I can confirm that the Amex offer CDP and my Promo Coupon do piggyback nicely for a 5+ day rental. Did have to ring Hertz to kill my main CDP and over-ride with the Amex one.

As a Cardmember enrolled into the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards[SUP]®[/SUP] loyalty programme, you will enjoy a range of exclusive benefits* at participating locations across the world:
- Value: 10% discount off standard rates.
- Comfort: One car class upgrade (applicable to standard vehicles only and valid for rentals of 5 consecutive days or more, subject to availability)
- Choice: Fee-waived additional driver
For me the bonus is not so much the upfront discount but the overall discount provided by being able to hire a vehicle a class below that which you would like and likely receiving the better vehicle.
