Today I was denied the discounted dining benefit at Mercure Brussels and the person at reception doesn’t seem to know about the benefits and mentioned that it does not work in Belgium. I made the payment in full for my breakfast however wanted to check if that is true at all ??

I thought my Accor Plus silver membership gave me upto 50% discount on dining benefits across all Accor properties barring a few but I was not expecting a blunt no for my benefit to be redeemed.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Dining offer is only in APAC countries.
Australia, Cambodia, China, Fiji, French Polynesia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Surprisingly I was proactively offered the dining benefits at several properties in the UAE but Europe is a definite no go

Accor Plus is worthless outside Asia Pacific. The only reason you would shell out such money for a membership is if you stay enough at hotels in the region. And yes you can get value here in Australia for it: there are a number of properties in major cities like Sydney where the Accor+ rate is consistently in the $100 range (and in some instances even less)

I’ve been nominated for the discounted A+ membership. I think last year it cost me $99. I got value through the additional 10% off during sales, and for dining in Asia. There’s also a small ‘non monetary’ benefit in that while you’re beachside in asia you can order lots of food knowing it’s half price! Just makes the holiday a little more stress free :)
