Discussion Dogs, Pups, K 9’s and man’s best friend in general [with Pictures]

Due to a change of ownership and direction the ruler of our world has moved from the hospital system at homebush to a SASH one just down the road from home .
Tuesday - Meet and Greet with all paperwork transferred . Expectations next meeting will be annual scan and blood works in May
Thursday evening - seen emergency vet due to weight bearing issue on back leg
Monday - see specialist and confirm cruciate ligament surgery is required
Tuesday - surgery is scheduled
Thanks puppy 🤦

Hope Pup is on the mend - do you have to keep the leg immobilised or can pooch move around? I remember our springer (long gone now) had a dislocated hip and after the first day or so after surgery he seemed fine.
He is still quite hobbled. Being 14 I don't think helps. He can't do much moving at all at this stage

Thank you :)

Crew rest rules resulted in an unacceptable walkies delay this morning.

Unhappy status pax.

One of my mother in laws 3 dog's died recently. She was 14-15 years old. She also has a 10 year old female and a 5 year old male dog from the one that died.

They basically keep her company but also look after our home when we are not in Thailand. The male one especially as he runs around like he owns the place.

Mother in law has been telling my wife she wants another dog. The lady across from my mother in law has a lot of dogs and one of them has just had a huge litter and they have been trying to give them away.

I'm not a dog person (or cat) but I decided that I would choose the puppy. Went across the road and had about 7-8 dogs around me barking and angry with me. One of the pups caught my eye. I think they are about 6 weeks old.

Meet Lucky. My new guard dog.

He's been sleeping on our verandah but the other 2 dogs have been jealous. Hope Lucky makes it through the night.

A puppy is happy no more strict restrictions . He had his eight week imaging test yesterday and his surgeon is quite pleased with how is he going.
Dog was unimpressed with the shaving , though he can finally have his proper grooming tomorrow .

The ruler of the world had his six monthly wellness check . All blood works came back ....in a good enough fashion..just waiting on his distemper and parvovirus results because apparently the antibodies can build up over time enough to not require the vaccine for a year or two. The ruler has had alllllll his shots since a puppy and is now very close to 15.
Very happy with the specialists report "she is glad to see Ruler is thriving " very nice considering all his health issues and age

Went to SanPaTong markets early this morning to find a puppy. Nothing.

Started to drive out when wife and daughter see puppies. Stopped. Man had driven quite a distance to give away puppies as he cannot take care. 5 in litter. All female. 4 black and one brownish one. Man said 3 months old but not sure. Wife and daughter fell in love with the brownish one.

Meet Pancake. I'm not sure what type of dog.

The ruler of the world decided yesterday his foot hurt. As he has so many health issues local vets won't see him, soooo off to the hospital for him again.
He runs around in their waiting room. However post triage and seeing the on duty emergency vet he does have swollen joints and is in pain. $501 later we got home , with pain relief and now he is on monthly injection to help him with arthritis pain. Apparently we can buy the injections and do it ourselves. Not sure it would be worth it. Does anyone else inject their dog ?
Do human have such injections ?
