Unfortunately I don't know exactly how many SC I'll need. I'll estimate my work travel and have a think...

I've been to MNL before, haven't been to CMB or PEK. Though my girlfriend wants to go to PEK so I might save that to go with her.

I see Hanoi falls just short of 80SC, falling into the 60SC bracket for KUL-HAN..

Based on needing 550SC to maintain gold, I've estimated I'll need between 200 and 0 extra SC on top of my work travel to maintain..

I suppose I have plenty of time to tack a status run onto the holiday, perhaps I'll revisit this in 6 months as the holiday to escape the MEL cold is not until August.

NZ is on sale again, east coast - CHC c. $1000 for 240 SCs.

Come to think of it, QF's long haul J is ridiculously poor value in terms of SC earn, even on sale, LHR is $7000+ return for a poultry 560SCs... Asia is even worse.

Not saying it's the best return, but we're currently mid way thru a BA Asia fare that earns 530SC and two QFF ~

(J) BNE-SYD QF
(F) SYD-SIN BA
(J) SIN-BKK CX
(J) BKK-HND JL
(J) HND-SIN JL
(F) SIN-SYD BA
(J) SYD-BNE QF

Fare was $5,000... earn would have been brilliant prior to the butchering of partner earn.

Interesting. I was seeing ~$1500ish "sale" J fares for connections vs the $550ish nonstop, but that could have just been the random date I was looking at :)

Only seems to be syd-mel/bne-chc. Couldn't get mel-syd-akl to work.

You are technically correct.

You can add a bundle after booking, but it will incur a change fee and sometimes the base price increases in loads have changed.

I guess what I should have said is that there's no way to add a bundle after booking without incurring the cost of the bundle plus fees.

You cannot add a bundle to a "Price Beat". Pay more for additional luggage only.
