Confirmation that the American Airlines chart levels will apply post merger until further notice:

How to redeem

  • Check the American Airlines award chart to see how many miles you need to reach your desired destination.
  • Book award travel on American with your Dividend Miles on usairways.com or call 800-428-4322.
  • Miles cannot be combined between the Dividend Miles and AAdvantage programs to redeem flight awards.

  • American Airlines award travel chart (pdf)

Looking at the chart itself, it seems to me that it is a US Airways chart for redemptions that include travel on AA, nothing more. This was on the mobile site however so I may have missed sonething

I agree, its not the One World option I thought it was.

So does this mean you can still do a stopover and destination do you reckon??? So say flying from HKG to DFW to some European destination serviced by US/AA (destination), then back to DFW (stop) then back to HKG???

Apart from that if its got to be on US or AA metal not that exciting for Oz as they don't fly much to south east asia etc...

Well this is not what I was hoping to hear. Its a little too murky. I'd like to see the real AA chart

I've got a 100% bonus on the the current offer and with me at 198k and the wife at 50k this would be ideal to top her up so we can have an F trip to Europe in the old DM's

What does the group think ?

Why not give it a crack, but yes this chart doesn't add much clarity to the situation...

Looks like this is not the case - US will continue to use their award chart and rules for redemption on AA and OW airlines.

Clarification on US Airways OneWorld Redemptions - One Mile at a Time

Mods you can change the title ;)

It is ambiguous because "Check the American Airlines award chart" can be interpreted to be "Check the AAdvantage award chart" (and hence AAdvantage mileage charts and rules).
It actually means "Check the award chart used to redeem miles on American Airlines [metal]".

Here is a clearer statement:
US Airways Preserving Award Chart After March 30th - One Mile at a Time
US Airways will continue to run Dividend Miles as an independent program to American Airlines’ AAdvantage, with its current award chart used to determine redemption rates instead of adopting the American Airlines’ table.

“After US Airways’ entry into oneworld, US Airways will maintain its current award chart” the spokesperson advised, with bookings for Oneworld airlines available through US Airways.

Pretty good for SWP-USA return for 110k in J and 140k in F! I wonder if you can pick your routing on OW via Asia

They have confirmed they are using the AA chart for OneWorld, as in American Airlines, linked in post 1, which is essentially the same levels as the previous chart for *

the chart being referred to on the page is the DM Award chart for redemption on American Airlines, it can also be used to redeem awards on oneworld partner airlines.
I will update the title so its not thought of as AAdvantage.

Re: Dividend Miles to use American Airlines redemption chart incl for One World Award

Oh. Yeah if you change it to "Dividend Miles to use same chart for redemption on OW airlines as that used for AA metal" that would be clearer.

Re: Dividend Miles to use American Airlines redemption chart incl for One World Award

Now given SWP-SWP is only 30K return on J with 1 stopover, does it mean it is a great way to go around Oz/NZ and New Caledonia/PNG on QF?

Re: Dividend Miles to use American Airlines redemption chart incl for One World Award

I just called USDM - they only changed over to OW 90 mins ago - CX is not loaded yet into their system, QF and JL are.

Is it still the same dumb team? :)

Re: Dividend Miles to use American Airlines redemption chart incl for One World Award

I did too just then. Wanted SYD-SFO via HKG on CX sadly can't get a route that works. What's interesting though is that the agent offered a routing via AKL on Air NZ coach. Might call again and see if I can get to HKG-TPE-SFO on BR.

update: got "No. OW only" this time.

They did say that USDM would remain as its own program for some time before integration so yes, same team.

Re: Dividend Miles to use American Airlines redemption chart incl for One World Award

I haven't dealt with USDMbefore, only AA.

You say SWP-SWP return with one stopover. Does that mean you get your ultimate destination and also one other stopover on route?

Eg HBA-MEL-PER(stop)-BME(stop destination) -MEL-HBA

Thanks,
Dale.

Re: Dividend Miles to use same chart for redemption on OW airlines as used for AA met

I'm hoping there will be no impact to ability to go OZ-xASIA-NthAmerica. HKG, KUL or NRT make good stopovers.

Logic states as the same USDM rules applies except now OW then all ok, but.... It's USDM!
