Sorry I didn't make the ADL dinner. By pure coincidence I was in ADL on 19/11 and was grateful for Storyteller's invitation.

Now in the Lounge ADL for ADL-SYD-BNE. Should be back to Plat before I get back to the UK.

THANK YOU DJ - it has been a blast!:p

You'll be sorry you missed it. Oysters / Moreton Bay bugs, 450g Angas beef, Barossa red with lovely mouthfeel & great finish (selected by Tuapekastar). Yum.

I'm in the QF lounge in ADL, having just done a rigorous adl drw adl, and awaiting adl syd bne. I suspect you & Straitman have already left on your dj flights.
If you want to meet the 2135 syd bne tonight, there will be 2 of us on it, but I don't know what's open for refreshments that time on a Sunday night in BNE closeby.

Dinner before you go back to your winter another day??

I'm on the 19:00 SYD BNE Formerly Known As the 18:00 SYD BNE.

It's very wet in Sydney. Glad you had fun. I'm liking the SYD Lounge, but it could do with a cake enhancement.

In the MEL lounge at the moment; taking a breather after my delayed DJ8035 flight from AKL.

Appreciating DJ in my own way.:D

Good to see that people enjoyed their travel.

We must have almost walked past you serfty.

Arrived at the gate at 1750, walked out and the shuttle was waiting to take us to the car. Jumped in the car and drove into Melb anfd checked in at HSW about 40 min after getting off the flight. :D:D:D:D

Four DJ flights in two days and all on time. :D

At 17:50 I was somewhere over Cardinia!

Disembarked 18:20 (9a) out of Customs 18:25.

Consider yourself lucky that I decided not to join the fun and went to TSV on Qantas instead. ;)

Had I been there 3 out of 4 flights would have been delayed and possibly missed connections. :p

Thank you John.

Your such a great guy for going somewhere else so that we didn't have to suffer!

A good little fly-around! (somewhat bigger for some )

A few random impressions from a DJ first timer:

The staff (checkin, gate, FAs, lounge) were all pleasant, professional and enthusiastic - a good 'feel' about them

2 'op-ups' from Y to Y+ out of 4 flights (I once got an exit seat on QF to replace someone on crutches, that's the closest to an op-up I've had there)

One of these was prompted by a cancelled flight and consequent transfer to another later flight, bad there was a cancellation, but it was of no consequence to me in my circumstances, and probably a 'win' overall.

The lounges were 'mixed': MEL new and shiny and moderately sized, paucity of newspapers; CBR older style and moderately sized - good view; SYD larger but still older style and not much view; ADL older style and small. All in all, QF lounges probably a little better physically (though DJ perfectly adequate and no complaints I hasten to add - and the lounge staff were very good).

Priority boarding was brilliant where it happened (MEL, CBR, SYD) Priority screening was useful in MEL though just as I entered the (empty) lane the screener called people across from the other lane. No big deal though, minor delay. There was no priority boarding in ADL - maybe an airport thing (the physical setup does not lend itself easily to PB)?

I had no idea when staff were serving people things whether I was going to get anything at all, let alonr if it was going to be gratis. I guess you get to know things over time, but I think I'll be happy if/when I can book into a certain class on DJ and know what I'm going to get (i.e. once you are seated in a particular cabin, everyone gets the same)

Overall a very positive experience and happy to (even looking forward to) experience DJ again.

Just walked in my door. I had a great weekend - thank you everyone for your company.

Just thinking, if we add up sectors flown and lounges visited for the weekend, for the whole group, it would be an impressive list.

I flew BNE MEL CBR SYD ADL ie 4 sectors. Lounges visited were all of these ie 5 lounges.

When I get my knuckles off the ground I'll post my impressions too.

I did my calcs too. Bne,Mel,cbr, syd, adl on DJ. 5 lounges visited.

AdL,syd, cns, syd, bne on Qf for my return. 3 different lounges, 4 in total including syd twice.

Aah the joys. Enjoyed the weekend. Good fun.

I neglected to mention earlier it was good to re-acquaint with people I've met before, and meet a few new ones. Hope to catch up with all of you again at a future meet. :)

Just want to echo the comments of everyone above. Had a great time and it was good to meet all of those that came along. Hopefully I'll see some of you again at the Xmas do at HMSW on 23/12.
