I've had about a twenty or so flights since the "new" system has come in and have had four fail to credit points. All have been resolved with a quick phone call to the Velocity Call Centre.

Unusual things like the outbound leg of a return booking crediting but the inbound leg not.

Anyone else experienced any Gremlins(!) with the new system of this kind?

I have had a similar issue lately - I flew SYD-BNE-SYD on the one PNR back at the start of August - the flight from SYD-BNE was credited the next day, but I am still waiting for the BNE-SYD flight to be credited to my Velocity account. I have filled in the online claim form, which says the crediting of the BNE-SYD flight is "pending", and made a phone call to the contact centre, and still no points. Wonder why it is almost 2 months since I flew and still no points? Velocity points are usually very quick to credit.

Also flew on Malaysian Airlines back in May and thought I would wait and see if the points arrived... there was nothing appearing so I sent an email with copies of booking and the boarding passes to the Velocity rewards emaila ddress on July 22 and have not heard a peep since.

There must be some issues with validating details between DJ and MH perhaps?

What fare class were those MH Flights?

I believe that some of the cheaper tickets do not earn on Velocity

I have had a similar problem for a few months now. I have had return flights credited but no outbound credit. I have had points credited but no SC's. A number of times I have tried to claim on line only to get a message that points have already been credited but nothing in the account. As you say a quick call to VR has sorted it out pretty quick but it's getting a bit annoying.

Yeah it has been playing up lately. My most recent trip took a month to credit and consistently said they had already been credited when i tried to claim them online.

mannej: The flights were in L class. I think it was a heavily discounted fare, but from my memory I would get ~25% of the "normal" miles by flying on that fare. Something is better than nothing!

Apart from being a bit of a hotch potch with some fares getting points and other not, the process of actually getting the points just doesn't seem to work properly.

I had a flight at the start of August and my flight didn't credit either, had to call them to get them to credit the points manually.

I had a Pacific Blue flight at the end of August that credited after 7 days, to less than a Velocity Red would get by about 5 points, despite being a Gold. Was quickly sorted on the phone, but I’m not sure how they managed that.

How long does it take now for DJ flights to be credited? Credits are supposed to be made within a week. Clearly DJ is falling behind.

All my flights with DJ usually credit the next day, I haven't noticed any change in recent times.

Partner offers and the ShopAndEarn store is a completly different story altogether sadly :(

Flights taken on 22 September and 24 September have not been credited by 3 October.

Wow lucky you.

DJ flights - 5 days on average. About 20% don't post - have to manually follow up. Pretty frustrating actually.

Partner airlines - Never. Have had to chase all up manually.

Shop and Earn - gave up on that lemon a long time ago! They should just scrap it.

I'm a DJ Gold and if DJ are serious about luring people across from QFF, they really need to just fix the basics!!

Rant over;)

Some partners I have found are consistently pretty fast, such as Europcar and Delta.
My recent trip to USA with about 7 flights with Delta, all were credited to my Velocity account in less than 5 days.
On the other hand, 5 weeks on and Virgin America flights haven't shown up yet and one in four flights with Virgin Blue are still in orbit as well, some with one sector only credited and the other half missing.
Then there's shop and earn, where spending $1,100 in one transaction with an earn rate of 4 points per dollar....so if your maths is any good that's 4,400 points????
Well not at the Velocity school for mathmatics......it's 836.

It's just frustrating and their system really needs to be overhauled.
I keep a log of what I have earned and mark it off to keep track and looking at my list now, almost half are still outstanding.

Until recently (early August) I had no problems with having my points credited. Since then I have had to chase up every booking, and even when I have done this online I have not seen the points credited without a follow up phone call.

As a Velocity Gold member I fly at least 2 times per week, and I am getting somewhat over this ongoing problem. I have better things to do with my life than chase Velocity points!

I do see the value in Virgin Blue, and for me QF is not an option due to timetables of my key city pairs (HBA SYD), however I spend considerable amounts of my personal funds to attain gold, and would like Velocity to focus on remedying this basic problem before adding more bells and whistles to their programme!

I may well be jinxing myself here but I'm the same as jdevereux... Almost all of my flights credit within 24 hrs and all bar one within 48 hrs. And that one was credited after a follow up with dj so I'm all quite happy about it. I didn't actually understand the concept of Shop & Earn and tried it once and didn't get any points so i gave it up as a bad joke.

I would suggest you have enough examples to put something formal in writing / email (more than just claiming each "miss").

Hi there koonyaflyer, would like to help you get to the bottom of this. Can you please drop me a PM with your contact details and Velocity number and will have someone contact you. Would help to know what may have changed in your booking process (if anything) - for example a change of travel agent or assitant booking? Were you trying to add Velocity number after a booking had been made?
cheers

So thanks to Crazy Dave and the very helpful Andy my problem is now resolved. I have to say that the level of response I have had demonstrates exactly why I will continue to support Virgin Blue....whilst there may be problems, they are addressed

And yes - the change to their reservations system appears to have created the problem, but I am confident in their reassurance that the cause has now been identified. Interestingly my flight last Friday credited to my account today, unprompted, so I am looking forward to a hassle free experience for Monday's flight.

Thanks Crazy Dave!
