DL booking, VA flight - points and SC?

Hoping for a confirmation/education.

If I book DL flights via Delta website but its Virgin metal SYD>LAX.

Will I get Velocity points for the SYD>LAX flight if I nominate Velocity details on my booking but I wont get Status Credits because its not Delta metal?

Or is it no points and no SCs?

If you include your VA number you will get both points and SC's. That said, you won't get as many points as you would on a VA booking. Points earn rate on a DL ticket is listed on VA website.

Same number of SC's though.

also you won't receive the normal VA WP perks you would normally see if it was a VA ticketed flight.
I learnt this with being charged for extra baggage on the flight back to Aus.
