Do I chase down P1?

... Also hope that my maths add up, as the account summary does not add up your QF SCs (although easy enough to count in the account activity). For those interested, I will let you guys know how I go.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but had to laugh when I got the email yesterday:

"Congratulations, you are nearing a very special milestone, Platinum One.
As you fly so often, we know that for you travel is more than just flying to a destination"

but then I see of the 2405 SCs I've accumulated this year, they tell me I have only 535 on QF flights. How is that "nearing a special milestone" when we need 2700 QF SCs and 3600 total? Methinks they need to rethink the criteria for the automatic email! Needless to say, I'm happy to be WP and won't be chasing. If I were as close as Hopsta, it might be different. Good Luck with getting to the giddy heights.

I just turned WP as well and also won't be bothering to chase P1, the rewards don't really outweight the time, money and effort.

Just a quick update. Thanks to great assistance within the AFF members I decided to give it a go and reach P1. I did a JASA to Sydney then flew Syd-Sing-Per for work to get my remaining SCs (the price for Per-Syd-Sing-Per was actually less than Per-Sing return). I had a Per-LHR trip in J arranged for Oct 30 and as a result I have made it to P1, just. Two days later I received my email with confirmation of status and am looking forward to using my pts with a ASA for the family on flights that may otherwise not be available. Whilst it is a milestone that seems not to have any real fantastic perks, I am happy I had to opportunity to give it a go.

too much more spend and too little reward = not worth it IMHO
