Do single men in their 30's really get the most upgrades?

I agree the article is mis-informed drivel and the subject/title of supposed 'article' can be summed up in one word:

"No".
 
whatever you say.... she just made money for writing it so good for her

Another way of seeing this, which I hope Aussie_flyer is what you were try to articulate, is like this:

Natalie, our esteemed author of the now proven "beat up article" is actually a young late 20's journo who became disillusioned with the boys club of the Fleet Street newsroom and needed any avenue to get out. There was an opening in the travel department of her newspaper, so she took it. No Brainer really, easy writing for easy money that pays the rent/mortgage etc.

Now those expenses are covered, she can concentrate on what she really wants to write, a novel, play, screenplay, serious journalism. Or maybe she just wants to be a mum and have a steady income in a not to taxing job. Any and all are possible. And respect to all of the above.

It still doesn't change the fact that the article is a piece of cough.
