Does anyone know how to book different classes with Qantas?

When I looked into this in detail last year (for a booking for my parents), Qantas told me several times that Y and PE can be combined without financial "penalty", but that PE and J combinations would be priced as one-way PE plus one-way J and would result in a crazy high prize.

I am not sure if this is still the case, but that's the information I got for flights to Europe.

That's the beauty of BA website - combining classes is easy and fare class is displayed upfront.
