Does anyone on AFF use NZ/Airpoints as their primary program?

Back when QF Jetconnect was operating domestic flights in New Zealand I booked almost all my personal flights on QF and tried as much as possible to have my work flights booked on QF as well. At the time, I preferred QF because of the FF as well as the QF Jetconnect domestic service. Jetconnect, in my opinion, still holds the standard for the best NZ domestic jet service (however that may be me wearing rose tinted glasses!). I also few on QF for my few international and Australian domestic trips and was happy with the service.

Since the changeover to JQ I slowly shifted my preference over to NZ and now I use NZ for all my personal flights. While JQ do have decent earn rates their service is pretty inconsistent and is nowhere as good as QF Jetconnect used to be. For example when QF Jetconnect cancelled an evening flight they would generally rebook onto the next available flight on any carrier rather than make pax overnight and catch a QF flight the next morning. JQ will usually rebook you on a JQ flight the next day (not always the first flight out as it might be fully booked, sometimes the second flight) and put you up in a hotel even if there are plenty of seats available on alternative NZ flights. NZ's service is generally better especially during IRROPS and I have yet to be forced to overnight.

I often credit my NZ flights to the NZ FFP because in most cases the fares I book can only credit to NZ or if they can credit to other programmes the earn rate is really poor. Another consideration is that when I manage to get status I would make better use of it in NZ on my domestic trips as QF/JQ have closed down their domestic lounges. It is a shame that earning points on partner airlines usually yields very little points for cheaper fares—but I guess NZ has engineered it that way to try and lock-in people into their programme. NZ is not the only one to do this though.

I use it, as i like their Premium Economy Pods. The seats arent comfortable, but the privacy is superb. Not a patch on business for sleeping comfort, but i cant afford business very often.
