When you book a Jetstar or Rex flight, the website provides the option to receive an SMS copy of your itinerary for an extra charge. The fee is $1.75 for Jetstar:

Or $2.40 for Rex:

I can't help but wondering if anyone - literally anyone - actually sees value in this? As far as I'm concerned, it's a junk ancillary that nobody would choose to select unless by accident. But perhaps I'm missing something?

I wouldn't be surprised if plenty of people tick this and other add-ons out of reflex or fear that they might not receive a confirmation otherwise at all. I know people who travel less frequently who have gone through the booking process and not known that you could opt out of all the add-ons.
