I have some Etihad Guest miles expiring soon. They have a policy of miles expiring if you don't have any qualifying activity in your account for 18 months, so I bought 1,000 miles (the minimum amount).

The miles have posted, but my account summary still says my miles are due to expire on the same date that it did before I bought the miles.

Does buying miles not count as activity, or is Etihad's website broken/slow to update? I can't see anything in the T&Cs that would exclude this transaction from extending the validity of my remaining miles.
