I was also on hold for ten minutes, only to be told to call the airport directly. They gave me the number for Melbourne, Tullamarine (03 9297 1600) but when I got through to a person there they said I had the wrong number. Correct number was 03 8336 5511 for domestic and 03 9297 1805 for international. You will need to leave a voice message (seat, flight number, etc) and they'll call you back. (Happily for me my phone was in the back of a cab and I got it back, so I can't vouch for Jetstar's ability to track things down. But they did call back a coulpe of hous later to let me know they couldn't find it.)

Well It happened to me lost my IPad in a Seat pocket after been distracted by a fellow passenger nattering to me.

Flight JQ486 on the 17[SUP]th[/SUP] of August, from Newcastle to Brisbane, the plane then went on to Mackay and back to Avalon .

Rang Jetstar Mackay 0749535999
Rang Jetstar Brisbane 0733361752
Rang Jetstar Avalon 0352826332
Rang Jetstar Newcastle 0249651590

No avail, normally they say that the report rate is pretty good, problem was it was nearly flat so I cant track it via find my iphone L. So while the people at Jetstar couldn’t help me I found that it was a frustrating experience because there was no ticketing system to call them to register it, and seemed like it was just taken down on pen and paper, with a hope that they get back to you, ….also they were all really busy so I sorta got the well too bad so sad tone..

They did say to wait a week and it might turn up. L I have sent several remote messages to it and I will be notified if it gets powered on via email….anyway…that’s my story its been pretty bad…..don’t lose anything on Jetstar or any airline for that matter.

Clean your pockets out of your seat.

May I ask how you got the direct number of Jetstar of the different counters? I used the number here and contacted Jetstar Brisbane but they then told me to call Jetstar Darwin. Been searching and searching for their number, called in their hotline - absolutely useless :(
