Whilst surfing through the multiude of AFF threads, I noticed this advert banner........

Overstock 52" TVs: $59.96 Get a 52" LED TV for just $59.96. Limit 1 A Customer. Australia Only

My immediate thought was why only select those seated in 1A..................

I had to re-read it for the real meaning to sink in.

What a tragic

I saw an ad earlier for overstock, unlocked, iPhone4's for ~$60. I believe there is more than meets the eye as even though I hate Apple products I would definitely buy an iPhone4 for ~$60.

What gives and who falls for these tricks?

Where can I buy that TV?

Er, I'm not suggesting you "buy" the TV. In fact if you can buy that TV (for that price) I'd be amazed. Usually those ads send you through to a site where you have to pay to bid on a product. Guess what? You always only just miss out but it costs you plenty to bid on it ;)

I always notice number plates with 747, 330, BSI, ATR, and so on. Sad, I know.

Sounds like a dodgy ad... I would've thought that the dodgy ad's would be kept off this site?

I knew I wasn't the only quirky one.
I would like my American phone number to be 1 800 CATALINA seeing they have toll free everythings.

My phone number is 04xx747400!

I was talking to someone that had a phone number like 04xx 767 747 or vice versa I when I commented on how aviation that was they replied nonchalantly "oh, I didn't even realise"!

I told them "there's people out there that would kill for that number", many of whom are on AFF I suspect. Grrrr why is it people that aren't as enthusiastic as the rest of us about aviation end up with these numbers!!!

My brother used to have a phone number that was a combination of QF flight numbers. I'd forgotten it so had to call a mate of his to get the number so tells me Sydney/Nagoya, Denpasar/Melbourne, Sydney/Auckland.

I was running low on battery (& patience) so didn't have time for cryptic questions like that so I just said "ffs just give me the bloody number" which was 04xx 59 68 43.

Right . Next time someone here wants my phone number, I'm gonna give them a list of flights

Yeah, but my number would translate to 04x (CBR-SYD) does not exist... Unless I don't mind putting down SIN-SYD to get single numbers...
My grandparents (who used to be very frequent flyers) have a phone number ending in 767. It was years before I make the connection.

I'm then 04xx AKL-SYD SYD-LAX SYD-EZE ... which I assume will switch over to Santiago next year!

Otherwise 3 digit flight numbers it is 04xx SYD-MEL SYD-WLG

Hard to decipher I guess as there are a few combinations of flight numbers there!
