I am also pretty sure that the padlocks that come with some luggage all have an identical key!

Because the new laws and new regulation since the year 2001 or at least 2003 when things become new for some. I am just alittle skeptical with the padlocks i brought.

The reason for this is that well i am tempting to put food in my luggage bag but that is deli foods regardless but then again they say you can not bring this on board. Then your last resort is to speak to qantas about it or just send all that deli food in a protected express parcel by australia post. No problems there well hope not. So same time im asking myself should i do it or not put deli foods in my luggage big bag but then again i don't tempt to be hold up by customs to ask me questions just because i brought deli food from melbourne taking it along with me back to brisbane.

I suppose they would break my luggage bag or just simply cut the padlocks who knows what they do.

Its not because i don't want them to look at my luggage either the food is suspicious or not or just inspection curiosity, Its just that since there has been quite alot of news from overseas and domestic travelers theres been quite alot of robery either your digital camera was stolen from your luggage bag because it didnt had padlocks on them or someone putting a lump of drugs in your bag.

But here is the interesting question. When you go to the qantas check out counter you present yourself with the papers to the qantas stuff.. She or he would then tell you put your luggage bag on here so they can put a sticker BNE to MELB. That luggage then goes soemwhere to the carrier. Now do they scan first these luggage bags before boarding them in the carrier or they dont? If they do scan them and its all cleared and later onces that is done outside the carrier worker could shove drugs in it.. which means ones the luggage apears in melbourne airport and if they scan it then they fine drugs then but not when it was scan in the first place in Brisbane.

Aniways :) it is very important to lock your bags it dosn;t matter either your a international overseas traveler or a domestic traveler. It dosnt make one different then another. If its not lock you are one of the many people been in risk if ever something looks suspicious and or something stolen.

Its just for your own security safety. Otherwise no one would re-claim your stolen good either it was your video camera.. cloths.. money perhaps that you kept in your luggage or anything that would be pretty much value for anyone.

So ill say lock it up. But becausxe there are soemtimes alittle tricky with what type of padlocks a person should buy is a matter of choise or qantas choise.

I was going to buy that new padlocks that are very acceptable to any airline. But im only traveling domestic for the time bean. But i always am sure to be very protected because what i take is very value for me and wouldnt want anything stolen or scroll in it if they where to look inside my luggage bag(s)

Aniways for what i have brought 6 padlocks for just 26dollars is good enough all 6 keys for each lock works on any of them they are copies so there is no need special key for each individual same padlocks.

Allways go protected. You may never had a problem but you would never now this without seen your luggage with you at all times.. regardless too in hotels you might be safe but sometimes there are stealers cleaners who tempt to look around.

You wont hear news on tv or radio about a hotel cleaner stoled 500 or move dollars from a tourist person who left her luggage bag next to the bed while the cleaner was to clean around.. Or you wont hear news that customs broke your locks or they where looking your bags or a carrier stole your camera or such.. You wont hear this on the news and on the radio but i tell you it does happen for real very much so not just in australia but all over the world in domestics and international airports... Its the same thing with a little child was taken away by an intruder and such.. you rarely hear this on the news and such.. But it happens everydays someone is raped or lost. Same with unprotected cases :)

Thought i would include that because it is very important to lock up your bags regardless your safe or not. Its just to keep you peace of mind and protected, Well i do care and my cloths and items in my luggage is very value so i allways protect it as much as i do to myself :) simple.

I might go other shops to check out these new interesting padlocks that are proval on all airliners but its alittle expensive.. better buy them and still use it for many years to come either your planing to travel overseas.

macgret - Yes you do hear of the odd case of people allegedly having drugs smuggled unknowingly in their bags - however it is as likely to be their defense against a death penalty as it is to be true.

Over the past 18 months I have flown about 60+ international flights - about 30 of those without any checked luggage. I have TSA approved locks on my luggage and not once has has the TSA warning emblem shown up - nor has anything been stolen.

I know you believe that safety is paramount - but there are a lot of very experienced travellers here who are not concerned. Especially not for domestic travel. Your biggest risk is having your camel suit paraded around at the airport.

Just relax and enjoy the flight.

True i suppose.

Im just a very nervours kind of person but who isn;t? I travel not afraid well i did many years ago.

Im more skeptical of my items because what i take with me where ever i fly state to state is very value stuff. cloths and digital camera home handy camera and such.

Im still quite not sure either the keylocks i brought im satisfied.. because im going to buy deli food and im going to put it in my luggage bag.

Allright with these interesting TSA Approved padlocks.. where in brisbane southside should i check them out at the very lowest price posible?

i just discovered there are these with keys and these with 3 scroll numbers.. I quite dont no how easy is with the scroll numbers like 123 unless i buy the oens with key. with these type of padlocks that only use 3 scroll numbers(s) if my secret pasword was to be 100 then wouldnt that actually show off the secret number? and then i wonder how to re-open the padlock. So not quite sure how realable are these new padlocks. To me ive never seen or heard of them until now these TSA Approved that are been advertice on the side of this forum page.

I would need 3 of them but they cost quite alot./. some what 17dollars each more or less. I tell you they don't come cheap.
I prefared to buy them in person so i can actually see it for myself.

But im only just traveling within domestic flight. I travel sydney and melb regular but just to be clear trying to fine cheap price deal.. Should i visit west field garden city luggage stores ? they might have any of these interesting TSA type of locks.. At least i can re-use it again and again when traveling.. makes it less hassel to keep buying better and better padlocks every time i travel.

Might get a discount if they aloud that.
