... straight from Amadeus:

AL FLGT BK T DATE TIME FARE BASIS NVB NVA BG
SYD
NYC QF 0107 D D 10NOV 1200 DONE4 2P
MIA AA 2203 A A 12NOV 0600 DONE4 2P
XORL AA 1990 A A 15NOV 1615 DONE4 2P
LON BA 2036 D D 15NOV 1830 DONE4 3P
SYD QF 0002 D D 20NOV 2145 DONE4 2P
Interesting to note that it has picked up BA's policy for 3 pieces of checked baggage for business class.

Are you staying that Amadeus allows the use of multi-airport city names (NYC, LON etc) for an e-ticket that will get around the fare rule that says an arrival at JFK and departure from LGA (or LHR/LGW etc) consumes one of the maximum 16 segments allowed?

I believe Amadeus has allowed this for some time. Since all my xONEx booking have been ticketed through AA this has not been apparent.

As of January last year, SABRE with AA did support OPEN segments, but not for e-tickets.

FlyerTalk Forums - View Single Post - AA, RTW, e-Ticket and Open Segments: lets settle this!

I note this as it was at least one way to still get a paper ticket with AA.

Interestingly, on a 17 segment paper ticket xONEx I purchased in early 2008, I had a routing:
  • ... -SYD-JFK/LGA-xDFW- ... -ORD-xLHR/LGW-DBV-xLGW/LHR-SIN- ...

The tax calculation was for:
  • ... -SYD-NYC-xDFW- ... -ORD-xNYC-LON-DBV-xLON-SIN- ...

Yes that's right. As far as we are concerned the ticketed point is the main city code (NYC), but book into LGA/EWR/JFK as required. .

Thanks. That is worth noting as the issuing GDS may make a difference to whether or not a particular routing is permitted.

Perhaps Travel Guru or someone else can tell us if this is permitted through Galileo as well as Amadeus?
