Hehehe - seems like you can hardly turn the corner without seeing a shopping mall or a crazy sale in Singapore. Not that I'm complaining. ;)

Congrats on the brand new granddaughter! :D

Thanks so much for taking the time to type up a most engaging TR. :)

Thanks for the TR - I think I am looking forward to my retirement already if that is what it is going to be like ;)

Thanks for the TR drron. I enjoyed your informative tour of Venice and the Singapore experience, and the stories of op-ups on CX continue.

I'm looking forward to your next trip. Congrats on the baby granddaughter too.

Cheers,

Now the business end.At the end of this trip my AA account stands at
EQP-77380
EQM-53763
Segments-23
Miles for upgrade-34405
upgrades-12
QF sectors posted by 60 hours,AA,IB by 72 hours and CX sectors took a week.
Hilton honors points etc for this trip-
Stays-22
Nights-51(6 nights in Venice were on points)
Base points-105256
Total points-177872
I found on this trip that honors is a point pinching outfit.I would change double dipping option frequently on the USA driving part of trip.If the HI was under $100 I would choose fixed AA miles,if over variable miles. However if I switched to variable miles after checkout but before posting i would be given the lesser fixed miles. But if I did the reverse I would be given the new option ie less than 100 miles because they accepted quickly the change to variable miles.I think they need to be reminded loyalty is a 2-way thing.i did in fact email the diamond desk but they have not responded.

Very nice trip report drron. Sounds like you had a great adventure. And I agree I always feel very welcome in Thailand.
