NFI - first time I have visited
All these people complain about LCC airlines about a bad experience, but they're the first to re book with them once they have a sale fare to Bali for $99 . They need to understand that 'you get what you pay for', and that the service IS NOT going to be the same as a SQ, EY etc...I came across this site "Don't Fly Jetstar" yikes what a blast JQ gets, I do my best to stay away from them but on the rare occasion have done only because its the most direct way internationally CNS/DPS, the experience has been awful, hard seats, food and late departures both ways, found the crew very good though.
possible fog in Perth was the "reason"for the delay, no interest in helping
Except that coughstar aren't LOW cost comapred with RyanAir, Easyjet et al, who regularly have fares around the £10 mark c.f. Jestar $100+. Jetstar is only LC for anything but fares.
Looking at price alone is comparing apples and orange

All to do with expectations. Jetstar is about par for the course for many carriers around the world, Australians by and large get spoilt by Qantas and even Virgin.
My "disruption" ratio (late or cancelled flights, poorly handled customer service, delayed luggage) is much lower on Jetstar/Jetstar Asia over the last ten years is than on my US domestic flights over the same period of time.
In Australia, Jetstar cancels a flight due to weather and people are shocked when the airline provides no support (meals, accommodation) to them and complain on social media. In the US a carrier cancels a flight due to weather ... you are completely on your own and no-one complains.
Indeed, that is normal in many parts of the world. If this was the case flying within USA no carrier would be interested in helping either.
Applying the US standard to Australia, if you were flying PER-SIN and the aircraft doing that originated in MEL and fog/thunderstorms prevented that aircraft from reaching MEL to then operate MEL-PER which meant they cancelled MEL-PER and in turn PER-SIN, that weather in MEL would mean the carrier would not help you if you needed to overnight at PER. All they would do is rebook you on a later flight. This is also the Jetstar standard.
Sure; so when I pay for a flight from MEL to HBA for instance on Tuesday ( ignoring the exact time) why Is it that I don't get that flight that day? Its not about the comfort of the flight that I think people complain about most, but wholesale, cancellations of flights ( not weather related) time and again and then it's just tough cheese until maybe the next day or a couple of days when it's convenient and cost effective for the airline to fly them. Whole classes of kids get stranded overnight or more with monotonous regularity. All these people complain about LCC airlines about a bad experience, but they're the first to re book with them once they have a sale fare to Bali for $99 up. The main trouble with Jetstar is that too often you DONT get what you have paid for.
They have departures on some gates there occasionally I thinkWhy are VA flights displaying on the T4 screens?
