A year or two ago the question was asked what would you not leave home without when travelling. well has that changed?

These days I would not leave home to go on a trip without my iPad... but is there something else you could not travel without (excluding the obvious, eg tickets and clothes)

Passport probably helps as well... :p

Probably my netbook computer (for a long trip)... That or a camera of some description (for a short one)...

Passport, credit and debit cards, blackberry, laptop. With those items I could get myself out of (or into ) trouble pretty well anywhere in the world.

The only items that would have changed for me would be maybe a tablet in place of the laptop, and the addition of noice-cancelling headphones.

iPad loaded with movies etc, iPhone, noise cancelling headphones, boarding pass / passport & ticket wallet.

1. APEC Card
2. 28Deg Mastercard / ample cash
3. Power Adaptor Plug
4. Multi-outlet power board to charge that truck load of electrical items we now all carry
5. iPhone with Hey Tell / Tango / Viber installed
6. 13in cheap PC pre-loaded with multitude Movies / TV series - all 'borrowed' from net (have usually seen all Moves etc on IFE) - iPads with no USB don't cut it for me
7. Camera

Amongst others

I thought the original question sort of related to one item you couldn't do without... :p

I simply put two because long or short trips can be different...

Some people's carry on amenity kit will add up to almost double figures... :p

Passport and credit card.

Everything else can be purchased :D

  1. Passport
  2. QF PS card
  3. Accor A|Club card
  4. NAB Visa Debit Gold card
  5. iPad (and assoc. charger/cable)
  6. Mobile phone and charger
  7. USB travel hub
  8. Point and shoot camera
  9. Notebook and pen
  10. Over-ear headphones and airplane adaptor.

I was thinking one or two items besides the obvious (passport fits into the obvious) but lists are good too...

A good attitude. I've seen many who bring/pack just about everything else.......but leave the most critical thing at home.

Second on my list would be my new ipad...

My water immerser so I can make a cup of coffee at hotels without jugs at any time of the day or night, and my Acer A500 with a loaded up USB stick.

1. Iphone, I can't live without it.
2. Iphone charger including adapter if going overseas.;)
3. Everything else, passport, laptop, noise cancelling head set, clothes.

iPad
iPod Classic 160GB with 28,000 tracks
iPhone - with all of my podcasts
Blackberry Torch (All my work emails!)
MacBook Air
Camera
Bose QC3's

The iPad is without a doubt the most critical thing for me.

The most important items for me are

1. passport
2. cash (and credit cards for certain purchases)
3. medication
4. mobile phone (and/or camera)

I can do without mobile phone and certainly do not need to carry any other technoligical garbage....

In addition to many items mentioned, AirPort Express to use Internet over multiple devices in / near hotel room. Plus the Ethernet cable, of course.

Woven laundry bag in which I pack my clothes to be used and, on return, soiled clothes. Using the bag reduces wrinkles on apparel on outbound journey.

Gimp mask and crotchless chaps.

Not really....

1. Portable iPod docking station. Nothing better than having your own music whilst drinking on your balcony during hol's
2. Asthma Inhaler(s)... its surprisingly difficult to get one overseas without having to see a doctor (which isn't desirable when in the Middle East, for example)
3. Lots of undies... I hate having to send through undies to Hotel dry cleaning, I just find it creepy.

Blackberry and car charger...

Wall charger is optional...
