3. Lots of undies... I hate having to send through undies to Hotel dry cleaning, I just find it creepy.
On a serious note I hate the way these rogueing thieving hotel chains charge you an arm and a leg for laundry services.

I am in Beijing / Shanghai 50+ nightys a year - I can go to the markets there and buy new shirts for RMB30 to 50ea (A$5 to 8ea) - hotels usually charge about RMB50 (A$8) / shirt for laundry - riddle me that one Batman.

The answer there is simple, buy a new shirt, wear it once, throw it out ... If it's a really nice shirt consider taking a plastic bag and taking it back home to wash there. (Which is what I usually do, on a side note I'd hate to be a Customs \ AQIS guy going through my bags on arrival )

Yes that is the MO - 3 weeks ago I bout 6 pairs pants - 30 shirts - and a new suit case to carry them.

Kept 15 shirts - gave 10 away to friends - 5 or 6 went straight to Salvo shop on Cruiserettes orders - but at $5 ea it aint no biggie.

Yes big bruvver just used to throw clothes away and buy new ones when he was based in HKG and traveling within Asia!

One of the few times my partner and I got undies washed at a hotel, after about 30 mins after collection a woman appeared at the room door holding up some of our [unwashed] undies and she said "these have holes already - we didnt make the holes"... I was speechless. At least they were sexy undies - give or take a hole or three ;)

Did you not die on the spot?? I know I would have.
Another off topic Q... Your partner wears undies?? I thought undies were for boys.

But to answer the OP's (your) question.... there are only 3 things you could ever need.

Tickets, money, passports!!

contact lenses are usually my most important, non-essential item
