Yep got it as well. Haven't received the DSC offers but got this one.
Very short window to book. Hard to use if you are actually in the middle of a trip right now (with QF) and therefore can't review your schedule, talk with future clients etc and consider a booking. Oh well at least I got some loving.

So the DSC has been enhanced...

No, these offers have been around in the past so their not an indicator that there has been changes, just indicative of the many options available to QFF to entice us to book, although the timing is I there's ting given bookings are normally stronger in the second half of the year, this indicates to me a tough market.

My comment's a bit tongue in cheek, actually. :)

But yes, tough market indeed, especially in Asia. ex-SIN, Y, Y+, and J are all on sale from now until mid-November, with Y+ (to BNE/SYD) being essentially the same price as SQ Y. BA also has similar prices to QF going to SYD, but I suspect all BA wants to do is fill in the seats left empty by the pax leaving the flight in SIN.

No worries, agree its tough ex SIN but you could say Qantas forced that on themselves to some extent (the Y+ fares are great, nested one in a trip last week). It will be a watershed 6 months coming up financially where I suspect the future of Qantas and to a certain extent AJ will be sorted.

Great Observation Markis..... I couldn't happen to notice the price of flights to Hong Kong on QF's website in Y, ex SYD for much of the next 6 months is currently cheaper than to Singapore yet is a longer distance flight.

As a man on wisdom Markis what's your thoughts on this route now being very competitively priced?

Not sure wisdom is the right word ;), I suspect HKG is on offer cheaply simply to try and counter the Chinese carriers and CXs frequencies.

Ok.... maybe I change the word "wisdom" to "high intelligence".

But needless to say with such Great Prices flying QF..... with a few flights per week on a A380 ex SYD...... what a Great opportunity to head to the Pearl of the Orient?

I'm looking at flying to London next year and it's very tempting to fly QF to hkg in PE then CX in y to lhr. Costs about $500 more but get a few days in Hong Kong and the added benefit of a leg in PE.

I like your thinking...... & just to add more food for thought regarding options to LHR.....BA will be launching their second A380 route LHR > HKG return.... in a few months time. (although im a bit hazy on the frequency )

So in other words A380 all the way to LHR from SYD with QF on the first leg to HKG, BA on the second leg to LHR..... will just need book the trips separately I suspect.

Or nick over to TPE and grab J to LHR for $4K

Wow. When it rains it pours eh

Haha......I'm now 4 offers in 17 years. All within the last two years.

Once the missing 200SC post ill be LTG and with flights already booked to LOTFAP over x-mas I've got WP tucked away until March 2015.

Pity - but I'm sorted so I'll give it a miss this time.

Pity I can't get it to work with the .br trick. Hmmmm ....

There is (or was) a nice PE fare from SYD/MEL to LHR through HKG. Ticketed via BA, circa 3-3.5k.

I paid $6.3k for 2 PE tickets in May travelling BNE-HKG-CDG with Cathay. They were booked several months in advance and I can't remember if it was a special or not.

I reeived a DCS offer in June.
Booked and took a few trip during the eligibility period, which i believe was until end of july (lost the offer so struggling to recall dates)
Its been 4 weeks since my first flight and none of the credits have posted. I called Qantas a few times but first they couldnt confim I took the offer, then they claim I need to wait until end of August when the promotion ends (although like I say, Im sure it expired end July)
Any suggestions?

Thanks

I think I might have got the same offer Liebs.
Was it the one which required booking by Flexi Saver and above?
When I called up apparently they had a problem with the system recording who had been registered and they had to manually register.
Mine haven't come across either...

Different offer mate but yes, was also told about some system issue.
Pretty frustrating when you're waiting on next status tier

4 week mark. Have called the QFF plat line 4 times.......3 out of the 4 times I've been advised that the the credits would post within days......the other agent basically told me to bugger off!

The three agents advised not only would it be solved within days....they would call me back to tell me. Only one of the agents has bothered to call me back, advising not yet......doesn't know why.

Pretty painful process all round!

I'm now a couple of days shy from the precious 6 week anniversary for the first of 6 eligible flights.

I've made 4 calls to QFF and sent a PM to redroo......without success.

I've been ignored into submission and will patiently wait for the first of 6 calls to QFF where my passive requests morph into polite demands.

My advice - keep calm and strike at the 6 week mark.
