I have 6 which is a pain - if it gets close and I can't use them I'm just going to give them away rather than Qantas get the money for nothing
Call and get them combined into one (or more) vouchers then do the booking while you're on the phone.

They want $40 to merge them and you can only merge maximum of four. I have only one flight planned in the foreseeable future. I need to HUACA

shouldnt cost anything, definitely try again.

When did this $40 charge come into effect, is this just a new fee gouge. If it is a new few that is just wrong, I often purchase flex fares and if I need to cancel turn these back into vouchers so I do not have to pay a cancellation fee. I then end up combining this vouchers in International fares. In my experience GV and vouchers from flight cancellations are treated the same.

I got Michelle at the premium centre in Hobart and she said she went and checked even though I was adamant that you can't do it online so therefore there should be no fee. She was very pleasant but I suspect also a bit of a stickler and she would be the sort of person you want when things go pear shaped.

If I can't get away with the no fee I may see if I can get them extended - these were purchased before the rule change

I noticed the other night this new feature when I contemplated cancelling a couple of bookings from June 18. Cheap Red-e deals which after the $99 fee would hardly receive a refund ....

Maybe you can book and cancel ....to recoup some value ?

Question.

If I was on a flight with a QF flight number (purchased as a QF flight) but operated by AA, should I have got DSC for that?

Oh my, got lugged with the GV expiry. Purchased on 5/2/18 and went last night to book flights, just to get the last two used out of the way (even without the DSC's available any more). And the redemption failed because the GV's have expired (12 month validity). Mentally I had somehow thought they'd be going for three years.
There's an email in with frequent_flyers to see what they say, if there's a way to get them still used or converted into something useful. If you have leftover GV's in your drawers, may be better blow the dust off them and spend them (assuming QF offers a nice way to use them for future bookings)...

Oh that sucks

I buy and use and maybe carryover one. Had that as I changed my mind and decided to book a trip with points when the 25% off points deal turned up.

Eventually 7 months later redeemed it on a flight for one of my children. Then the trick to get to sit together...... fortunately he doesn’t like row 4 and 3 days out, I managed to plonk us together in row 6....

As for the return, he flew home separately as my flight had gone to ridiculous fare heights ..... it he’s used to travelling without parents so all good.

Good luck but don't think they will honour it because I tried. Also - if you are trying to merge two vouchers to do one booking some people want to charge you $40 to merge them but I did a HUACA and got someone who did it. This was about two weeks ago and still waiting for one of them to ticket even though I can see it in my bookings- must follow up

Unfortunately only gift vouchers sold from 31 March 2018 have an expiry period of 3 years.
