Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

I have a day trip status run DSC booked for December. Qantas have cancelled first flight but not the return leg that afternoon.
Can I (somehow) request destination and date changes keeping same PNR?
I'm happy to pay fare difference, would I have to pay change fee?
Any advice much appreciated.

As noted in newbie thread, you can cxl to voucher and rebook. Probably easier than trying to deal with an agent

BUT the flight credits require same/higher value and harder to use online.

Im going to have to lodge an ORC given all the flight time changes and cancellations Qantas have been making this week to flight I booked during the DSC for Jan.

Most were minor time changes except my OOL-MEL-AKL

The morning OOL-MEL flight has been cancelled, now only 1 direct QF (not JQ) flight that day and its a afternoon flight that departs OOL 30 minutes after I was supposed to depart MEL. Was able to get OOL-SYD-AKL instead but of course that earns fewer SCs.

I think pretty every flight I have booked for 2025 has had at least 1 time change.

Thank you for your help @RichardMEL

Updated my experience today in the newbie thread.

Fortunate to get 2 great agents.

Firstly knowledgeable Ken who I felt comfortable with to facilitate the flight credit.
Then Va who re booked using said credit voucher retaining the PNR.
E-Tickets emailed within the hour despite saying it may take 24-48 hours.

Now that our Christmas Day in ADL is not happening, might do a TR for Pilot Nephew's 30th birthday bash in CNS 😀

DSC trip registered and booked within the window.
MEL-SIN yesterday (then to USM but know they don't count) only dropped SC's.
Am thinking I need to wait as I did book at 9.30am day 1 and subsequently read best to do bookings late morning?
Have kept BP's.

I took my first 2 flights booked during this promo over the weekend.

The bonus SCs for flight on Friday 30th flight appeared on Sunday 1st and the bonus SCs for the flight on Sunday 1st flight appeared on Monday 2nd. So it can take a day or two to show up.

If you book too early on the opening day of the promo it can be seen on the backend as being booked the day before the promo starts. The timezone of the promo T&Cs doesn’t match the timezone of the computer systems.

I now know that @mviy - much is learned from the AFF community!

Brain trust: I think this has been asked before so apologies in advance for the repeat. I booked a flight during the DSC promotion earlier this year but it now looks like I wont be able to take it. If I cancel for a voucher and then use it book a flight within the promotional period, will it still earn DSCs? I recall something about making sure the original PNR remains in place but I am not sure how that works in case of a cancellation for a voucher. Thanks in advance.

Yes you will, the original PNR remains.

I chose to do it over the phone @PatoRojo due to involuntary change - yours is voluntary?

Qantas cancelled our ADL Christmas Day flight which was booked DSC. Decided to use voucher for CNS December trip instead.
Agent was very helpful as it preserved PNR and also avoided the change fee that should be waived - but sometimes isn't.

Good point. I imagine the time zone of the promotion is AEST so I suppose those earlier time zones, e.g. NZ or in the Pacific, could get caught out. Booking at one minuit past midnight on the date of the promo would actually be 10 o'clock the day before in Sydney and would miss out. Must remember that! ( actually any time between 12 and 2 am)

The Timezone of the promo is e.g. AEST but the computer systems for bookings uses UTC/GMT, I think. So if you book in the morning of the opening day of the promo it may be during the promo in AEST but before the promo according to the computer systems meaning that you end up needing to chase the SCs rather than have them credit automatically. It would seem a simple issue to fix but for whatever reason QF seems not to fix it.
