Breakfast. You can order fried eggs, but omelets are prepared ahead and reheated. Scrambled eggs are from a chafing dish. Bread and pastries are not bad, but the coffee is terrible, IMO. Staff are very accommodating and friendly.

Stayed DT Northbridge 4nts Jan 29 to Feb 2 - only previous stay was April 2019 and was FABULOUS - this stay DISGRACEFUL

EL now permanently closed - Gold and Diamond Members are given 1 arrival drink voucher per guest regardless of stay length. Front Desk told me ELs in all DTs across Australia no longer in existence post Covid - is this true?

Only 1 large TV in the front bar / restaurant and it does not work so no chance watching Novax knock off Melbourne's adpted son Stefano anywhere in hotel - 39deg outside to go looking for a bar that did have it on - FFS

Breakfast not outstanding but acceptable and this time coffee tax in play for Dias whereas last stay was not.

Surrounding area has seriously gone to s**t - yeah yeah I know it is Northbridge and has never been top of the town but so many restaurants / bars closed - as solo business traveler this hotel / area suited me perfectly for a short stay but never again.

Thank god for New York Tailors across street - pics of new shirts to follow 👍 👍

Lucky you got out of that hell hole CE.
We rarely go into Northbridge for the obvious reasons.

But I ate at a number of restaurants around town - now WA might be the mining capital of Australia but it certainly aint the culinary capital of Australia - any wonder cove has to jump on a plane and hightail it across here to MEL to get a decent feed.

The EL closed quite early in the Covid days. The DT waterfront was supposed to have an EL as well, but I'm not sure it has.

OT, I realise, but would you mind mentioning some of the places you ate with a good/bad/neutral or some such for each?

Actually CE you didn’t ask places to eat in Perth.
I love these sandgropers - when you go fishing even the tiniest of bait will get them biting

On a serious note I just threw that line in to see if the fish were biting - and they certainly did - but seriously serious I went to Santini Grill in QT Hotel in middle of town - this restaurant is equal to anywhere I have ever eaten - it was SPECTACULAR - I had a 500gm rib eye on the bone - equal to any non eye fillet steak I have ever eaten - it was SUPERB - just a word of warning they do not miss on the wine prices

Haha. Good job.

I've heard elsewhere that Santini is very good. Annoying that you get stung on the wine but that's certainly commonplace. Thanks.

Good one CE……A bottle of Pinot vinegar reward……
Actually QT is a place some of our visitors stay. Have only been there for nibbles.

Go to Santini when you can cove - you will love it although I know you are allergic to OTT wine pricing as I am - am almost certain I will stay QT next time in town - totally OT but I drove to Margaret River morn of Jan 30 - totally knocked over how beautiful that whole area MR, Dunsborough, Busselton is - def heading back later in year for a week 👍

Also ate 1 nt at Italian Street Cafe which wasn’t so good - I wanted to try the Pork Knuckle at Belgian Beer Hall but totally out of trotters so had to give that miss

It is a beautiful part of the world, and the wine is quite good too.

I haven't been for years, but thoroughly enjoyed my last visit, I must go back also!

Stayed 19-24 Feb 2023 - just after Fringe World concluded
Gold status (status match challenge) and was upgraded to a "Panoramic View" Room - I'm guessing though that from the floor plan on the fire exit map and the windows from the outside that this just means a higher floor?

I enjoyed breakfast 3/5 nights, not spectacular and I think some effort was being made to have dishes better suited to certain guests. Agree on previous comments the espresso coffee available (charged) is no good, and I went to Eillo down on William St instead, plenty of options around.

I had a great meal at the onsite "2 Fat Indians" Restaurant - and my tip is to ask for the "Theka" tapas menu - thankfully I was aware of this before going, and the smaller portions make for a more enjoyable dining experience as opposed to the more run-of-the-mill indian curries on offer. I was also happy the kitchen was open late - a welcome change from the 9pm closing of most places I've found in Sydney CBD and Darling Harbour etc!

Yes, Northbridge is definitely on the decline, as seems to be much of the CBD, not many restaurants still around, but still a few options without venturing too far.
