Given the run around I had with Hilton when I got the comped status i think DJ/VA could have handled/set it up better. In fact it was only really fixed when I made contact with the VA/DJ rep here NOT Hilton (who I called 5 times).

Its indicative of the standard of people at the hotel/car rental program rather than DJ, at the end of the day its the program originator (hotel/car hire) thats responsible for supporting the commitment it made to a third party which in this case is Velocity. Probably also a symptom of things being a little under forecast as well in terms of popularity.

Anyway, I rang PC today and they have reinstated the gold status until the end of 2012 which was great.

I tried for a status match with A|Club but they said it's not a competitor program!! That was a bit weird!

Any thoughts on how to get them to match with A|Club?

Cheers

Good result. Not surprised about A-Club status match.

A-Club is a joke.

Well you did better than me:

Thank you for contacting Priority Club Rewards regarding your Gold account. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you with your concerns.

Complimentary upgrade will only take effect within a calendar year. To reach Platinum level, members must meet the minimum requirements of Platinum which is 60,000 points or 50 plus nights. You may click here to review the elite statuses with Priority Club Rewards.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us as we value your patronage. Should you require further assistance, please feel free to contact the Priority Club Service Center again.

So that was a complete waste of time then, wasn't it?

VA/VFF, can you confirm if this is the way this is supposed to work???

awilcockson I originally emailed them (with a copy of my A|Club account details so they could see that I earned my A|Club Platinum status) and got the same reply - they weren't interested. So then I phoned and that's where I got my success of keeping Gold. So I'd recommend giving them a call - much more likely to have it reinstated then.

Good luck

Will try tomorrow. Cheers mate.

Someone from VA needs to talk to someone at PC.

Just got off the phone, after 10 minutes on hold while the operator "talked to her supervisor", I was told "we are going to make a one time exception and upgrade you to Platinum Elite until December 2012. Just remember this is a one time exception and won't happen again."

I thanked her and hung up, considered for a moment pointing her to to the following:

Complimentary Membership Terms| Velocity Frequent Flyer

And in particular:

Gold and Platinum members who enrol into a car hire program or hotel program as outlined in clause 3(a) and (b), will receive a minimum of 12 months complimentary enrolment in the program from the date of their enrolment in the program, excluding enrolment by Platinum members into the Hilton Diamond Elite Level which is 6 months complimentary membership

But I really couldn't be bothered. But it's not a good look when the left hand doesn't talk to the right hand ...

I have had a lot of one time exceptions with the PC service centre, many of them for things such as rates that should qualify according to their own T&Cs, I would not be to bothered by it!

But my point is that nobody should have to ring up and ask for something to be applied that is part of the standard terms and conditions of the promotion. It looks bad for Virgin and it looks bad for PC.

And my point is its par for the course with Priority Club regardless of it being a benefit promised by Virgin or by themselves. An outsider cannot always fix an inside problem, but I am sure they will try!

Have emailed both VA and PC and both have responded with "we'll look into it".

I will give them some time to deliberate/blameshift/ignore me then I may try the telephone

Not really important to me as my company has negotiated such a cheap room rate that no points are allocated.

Still, if they offer something they should honour it!

Glad you got it sorted. They need to fix this

Add another disappointed member! After reading the thread logged on to PC to find I had been downgraded to Gold.

In addition to only having a few months of Plat, as it took so long for the match to come through, after applying 31 August, the 3 week trip I took in September/October all at IHG hotels posted at club level, only to be comped Plat a few weeks after returning.

Would be interested to hear the response DSFlyer.

How long did it take for everyone's status at PC to be upgraded? I've just submitted mine and wonder if they do actually contact you, or whether the status just eventually shows up online?

I was going to ring PC Sydney service yesterday afternoon to see what they would do about my downgrade from Plat to Gold, but dind't get around to it.

Logged on to PC this morning to get the contact number, and they have re-instated me back to Plat.

So well done PC/DJ, you got it right in the end.

Sent off an email last night to PC as I had not heard back from them, and have just checked my account and I have been reinstated to platinum as well. No response to the email mind you, but the right result.

Same experience here. I got Priority Club platinum thanks to the Virgin match (it roughly a couple of weeks for the status to show up), and it seemed after the New Year I dropped to Gold. Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, and Gold still beats my former non-status, but I was still a bit :-|. Then overnight I was hoisted up to platinum again :p

I received this email today:

Priority Club Rewards said:
Welcome Back to the top.

Priority Club Rewards Platinum Elite status.*

On 10 January 2012, a manual system error resulted in a number of members accidentally losing their elite status match. We truly apologise to our members impacted by this systems error.

Fortunately because of our partnership with Velocity Frequent Flyer, Priority Club Rewards is able to extend a 12-month enrolment & complimentary status match to all Platinum Velocity Frequent Flyer members.

We want to reassure you that your complimentary status has now been reinstated. Please take a moment to visit Priority Club Rewards | The World&#39s Largest Hotel Loyalty Program to check that your elite status has now been corrected. If your status has not been reinstated, please email [email protected]

We are grateful to be your hotel programme of choice and genuinely appreciate the trust you place in us. Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience and look forward to helping you enjoy the many Priority Club® member benefits and points in the future.

All good again

Guess they got sick of all the complaints. I got a "Gold" version of it today too.

My account is still showing club (put in for a match to gold). Have forwarded the original match confirmation e-mail to [email protected] to see if I can get them to bring it up.....
