Qantas' partner lounge at DPS, previously known as the Premier Lounge, has had a significant renovation and is now branded the Tujuwan Lounge. It seems to have reopened at some stage in 2024, but I don't think it's been widely discussed on AFF outside a couple of brief mentions in Trip Reports.

Anyone who visited the old Premier Lounge would agree it was one of the worst in the Qantas network. Some elements remain (the footprint is the same, the food offering hasn't changed much, and the outdoor overflow mezzanine still exists) but there have been huge leaps in other areas:
  • Four new showers which looked relatively clean
  • The aircon is significantly stronger than before
  • A staffed coughtail bar offers a much wider selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages (I seem to recall the old lounge simply had a fridge with soft drink and canned beer)
  • There's a couple of private rooms for families
  • The fitout is modern, bright, and seems to use more space-efficient furniture

As far as contract lounges go in SE Asia, I think this is a pretty solid offering and a long overdue improvement on the old lounge. It not going to win any awards but I wouldn't actively avoid this lounge anymore, like I think many AFF members did in the past.

There's also a downstairs lounge area off the mezzanine level that is considerably cooler.

Yes - @Flyfrequently helpfully nudged me in that direction when I mentioned the trivial AC upstairs a couple of weeks ago. Although it sounds like the upstairs AC has been improved already. (from a very low base)

Will the overcrowding situation be any better though?
There's still a laundry list of airlines listed at the entrance, so unlikely.
Definitely a noticeable ebb and flow when I was there a couple of weeks ago - to be expected, I suppose.

It was still being Renovated when we were there in Nov. We just went straight down the stairs and didn’t look in. Downstairs was packed.

There were still obvious renovations happening on my visit; on that day upstairs was noticeably busier - no doubt attracted the the bright lights.
I much preferred downstairs.
