Have had a similar experience on the SYD/CNS sectors, with beer and wine, have been surprised a couple of times that they only had 1 bottle of the wine I was drinking as well, there are normally only a couple of people in the J cabin which may have explained only 1 bottle but if we had both been drinking the same wine not sure it would have been enough for a 3 hour flight! On the positive the second person is normally my wife who doesn't like the same wines so generally all ok..........

This is a problem with CNS flights as they are catered from BNE SYD MEL. Is this the same for DRW?

Sounds like it ;)

But I am a self confessed gym junkie so alcohol isn't high on my consumption list given how bad it is for you & what it does to you physiologically.

Perhaps DJ under budgeted... :)
psychologically it keeps me sane from self confessed gym junkies.

Are you sure about the driving limit? Roughly adding it up it could indeed put you over the limit?

Sounds right to me. 1 standard drink per hour for women and 2 in the first hour and 1 per hour after that for men is the rule of thumb to remain under the limit.

Not knowing the size of the drinks on board, I was working off the 1.4 standard drinks each

That'd go close at 5.6 drinks in 4 hours 40. But I think the beers on board are a bit smaller. My limited experience has been to get one decent size glass per beer, with no top up. So about 250 to 300 ml.

I think they're 1.2 drinks so it would just scrape in (using rough figures). Throw in a bit of ground time at either and and you'd be safe.

They really shouldn't be catering to the bare minimum though. On a Friday afternoon when I don't have to drive home from their airport, I'd certainly like to have a few drinks with my cheese plate.
