Arrived into LST 15 minutes early.Told to remain in our seats.A police Inspector boarded and gave a rundown of what was to happen.Then said essential workers first followed by those with children and the rest.Four essential workers.Premium hand carry items were already at the bottom of the ramp-mine was the only one.
Inside the terminal and first showing our letter of acceptance.Then on to a second officer to show photo ID-the driver's licence was fine.Then to a third officer to fill out a sheet with your details and your address whilst staying in Tassie.Finally on to a biosecurity officer to fill out another arrival form for them.

Then made your way to the exit-to the right and upstairs for us and to the left and onto a bus bound for a hotel for the rest.

Can you explain what is meant by the reference to "the same special treatment as Bojo"? Do you have inside information, or should we all ask for a Portuguese and a NZ nurse to be by our beds 24/7 in the ICU?

Professor Brendan Murphy said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon that while the dinner party hypothesis "had previously been mentioned to me following initial investigations, I am now informed that the contact tracing has not confirmed that such a dinner party occurred".
Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein on Tuesday morning said he had referred the matter to police after hearing Professor Murphy's earlier comments.
Mr Gutwein said that "at this stage" health authorities' contact tracing of the outbreak "has not identified a dinner party of health workers".
"To be frank, Brendan was commenting on a rumour," he said.
"We need to understand whether or not there is any strength to the rumour because, at the end of the day, I am certain that there are many hard-working health professionals on the north-west coast who feel that their reputations are being maligned; people that have done the right thing."
Mr Gutwein had on Monday rejected social media "rumours" about the source of the hospital outbreak, saying authorities were still working to determine the chain of transmission.
On Tuesday, he said that "regardless of whether or not that party took place, it does not change the fact that we need to get on top of this outbreak".
Federal opposition leader Anthony Albanese said the blame for the outbreak in north-western Tasmania lay with those responsible for "the Ruby Princess debacle", saying the spread of the coronavirus through the cruise ship's passengers "should never have been allowed to happen".

And having worked at the NWRH over 2-3 years I can say dinner parties are not that common with the medical staff and drug company largesse is mainly sponsoring the weekly journal club meetings in the hospital.
Here at the LGH such meetings were cancelled weeks ago and as NWRH and the Mersey hospital get their infectious disease advice from the specialists at LGH I suspect the same happened at those hospital.

There have been 2 deaths at the NWRH from Covid.Both Ruby Princess pax.The first was Tasmania's first death.That is the very likely source of the cluster there.

After going through "Immigration"I stopped at the Hertz desk to pick up my rental.normally is a tiny car but I was their only customer for the day-only 1 flight per day then-and the woman was a little emotional so upgraded to a Camry.She was emotional because the LST flight was only going to be flown the next 2 days and then she was out of a job.Sad times indeed.
Now I am required to be in self isolation.

So I am only allowed out to go to work.not allowed to go to a shop.And I must wear a mask and was told any time you are out of the apartment.Fortunately I was wearing a mask on arrival.i also got permission to go to a supermarket on the way to the apartment.So I did a very large shop by my standards with enough to cook up a couple of curries,my spicy wallaby Bolognese sauce and some spicy taco filling.Excess in the freezer.
Fortunately a bottle shop in the complex so picked up a bottle of gin and 3 bottles of Tassie Pinot noir.

For fresh stuff I went online as soon as I reached the apartment and ordered from the Harvest market online-the Harvest market is well worth a visit in normal times but have shown initiative by going to an online service.Stuff is ordered Monday-Wednesday and delivered Saturday.You can pick up your order from a central point which I will do in the third week.

I make a selection of 5 after checking which are availlable for the duration.However for the hospital they need to discount the rate-though with a 3 month booking especially now most will do that.However a couple of places I am told wouldn't take the booking as I was going to work at the hospital.The apartment I am in was not my top pick but is in a great position for a tourist just 2 blocks from the CBD.The down side of this it only has street parking which is metered.I however have previous experience on parking in this area.So between 1530 and 1730 there is 2 hour free parking in the Council Car Park in Paterson street across from the Quest.Just before 1730 go back and move car to the street as paid parking is only until 1730.For thgis 2 weeks I park down near the river which is unrestricted.

My digs are in Cameron street.It was the rooms of The Northern club.Next door was originally the Northern Tasmania Parliamentary building.

The other problem is the apartments are up stairs.With my balance problems a little difficult lugging a suitcase up the stairs without touching the railings.

Now over the front door is what Tasmanians call a heat pump.Back in QLD we call it an air conditioner.First thing I did was turn it on and put up the temperature.It will be turned off the day I leave.

They are all "heat Pumps"; one use is to pump heat from inside to outside (QLD), another use is to pump heat from outside to inside (TAS).

Here in Vic, there are these things referred to as "Reverse Cycle" which can do both. ('cause Victoria)
