DSC FEB 2020 Post Your Successful Bookings

Yup, QF flights to/from Melbourne. There was a problem with my name on the booking so may be that's the issue. Even though my FF number was attached to the booking (ie I was able to see them on the Qantas app), I rang the call centre to get my name corrected on the booking before flying out, just in case it caused issues. (One time my name wasn't correct on the ticket and I wasn't allowed into the lounge!) But, as it turned out, my name was STILL spelled wrong even in the re-issued itinerary (but this time with a different spelling mistake).

The reissued ticket retained the original PNR from the gift voucher (ie the one bought and booked before 28 Feb), but the flight had dropped off MMB due to my FF number having been left out when they changed my name. So I added my FF number to the booking and was then able to see the flights on the Qantas app again. All this happened before flying out. So, presumably, other than my name still being spelled incorrectly, everything else should have been in order: ie original PNR, FF (re-)attached to the booking.

Maybe I'll put in a missing points claim, but thought I'd wait a few days first. Six weeks and all that...

Almost certainly this is your issue.

I would not submit missing points claims but contact QFF directly and explain the situation with the name. They may have to manually credit it(and then you can enquire about DSC)... a missing points claim may just be run by a bot when it seems that human intervention may be required.

hope it works out OK for you

Thanks for the tip, will do that. I might for a bit though as I figure the people who look after this sort of thing might all be pretty busy right now.

er it wasn't a tip at all. It was an opinion and possibly the point was missed.

If you do not fly you won't get SC, and thus no DSC. That is how it works.

And in the event an itin is booked but one is a no show and a no cancel, depending on the fare rules of the fare in question it will either be treated like a cancellation and get a refund (if flex) or basically forfeited (most fares). Either way QF would treat a booked but not flown ticket (paid for) as a cancel and will absolutely 100% not give ANY SC. Hoping for otherwise is a pipe dream.

Either way you wouldn't get ANY SC in this situation.

You. Need. To. Fly.

I perhaps didn't make it clear in my earlier posts, but I did fly to/from Melbourne on 8/10 March. It's just that my name was spelled incorrectly on the booking (twice, ie even advising Qantas via phone and asking for a correction), which perhaps may be the reason why neither the regular SCs nor the DSCs have come through yet.

Flew 14th Mar, just posted. Either they post Sun nights or that was a lucky 24hr dsc turnover

Again, flew 15th Mar (Sun), DSCs posted tonight (Mon PM). Either IT/DSC processing is speeding up with the lack of flying volume, or things are now 24hr turnover? Loving it.

5 Flights taken on 13th and 14th, points and status credited same day with the DSC posting on the 14th and 15th. Hope this continues to be the case.

I know. I responded to that issue in that you need to get that sorted out to get the base SC's posted - which is separate to DSC.

I actually misquoted the wrong post which is why there was confusion (I apologise!).

I was actually responding to the post suggesting folks get SC/DSC for flights booked but not flown.

Sorry for that.

Flew CBR-MEL-AKL on 13 March - points and SC almost immediate, DSC posted the next day, Return flight on Sunday - all DSC posted overnight last night for the second leg.
