I have been giving some thought to cashing in some points for an hotel stay as opposed to a flight (I know, I know, not the best use, but hey its me not you!). Anyway I was most excited to see Rydges have a hotel in Thredbo, and I haven't been to the snow for some years so thought that would be good. Contacted the hotel only to be told that they "did not participate" in the Qantas scheme. In spite of the fact that it CLEARLY states on Qantas website ALL properties within Australia. :x

So I've fired off an email to QFF with a "please explain" to quote Auntie Pauline. But I'm PO'd in a BIG way - its not enough we're getting dudded on the flights post May, but the other rewards aren't even what they're cracked up to be! Just thought i'd let you all know.

Oh - and VERY glad I didn't follow what it said on the website and simply make the booking with the hotel, then get the award cert from Qantas and then turn up expecting to pay with them. My 18 month year old daughter wouldn't be the only one having a tantie that day!
