Well, we got screened in LHR!That’s bizarre! It seems to go against all the written policies.
The domestic only pax get screened to international requirements but the transit passengers from LHR don’t.

AirNZ used to operate one at LAX T2 on their 'direct' flights between AKL and LHR.It’s really unique. A private Qantas from LHR only transit area.

It was more like a 'waiting room' rather than a lounge. Those wanting Lounge benefits (such as a shower) had to run the gauntlet of US CBP and the TSA.So the pax didn’t need to go landslide? That would be very convenient in the USA!

Are they rescreened in ADL? In PER they were claiming the transit was similar to ADL - i.e. no rescreening. It seems that CBR international is similar for transit pax to and from NZ. My guess is that it’s to do with airport design/layout as it’s not the case in other cities (eg SYD, MEL, ADL) where transit pax are re-screened.

So not quite the same as PER. Gotta love the consistent inconsistency.I was.
It was a CX HKG-ADL-MEL direct flight.
