Saw this on the Velocity website this morning - https://www.e-rewards.com/Enroll.do?IC=cp9by4aoan4&lc=EN_AU&secure=1

It says you receive 750 free Velocity points on completing your first survey.

Does anyone know whether you can convert the 'opinion points' you subsequently earn into Velocity points? Its a very, very US-based program and I would be happy to participate in surveys if there were rewards relevant to Australians (i.e. conversion to Velocity points).

Edit: found the answer once I enrolled.

By the looks of it this is a good way to earn 'free' Velocity points if you lots, and lots, and lots of time to spare doing surveys.

With e-rewards, your redemption options vary depending on which company 'sponsored' you into the program. Some of the surveys are relevant to Australians, especially if you were signed up as an Australian!

When I was previously a member, I didn't really receive a lot of surveys, and most kicked me out pretty quickly saying the quota was full!

I use it to trickle points into IHG PC. Didnt know Velcoity was possible.

I didn't know Velocity was possible....I do the surveys and pool the points in the HHonors which is a much better bonus rate (2000 opinion points =1000 HHonors points)

i joined a few days ago. No surveys so far.
There's a similar thing called Pure Profile where you get cash instead of points. You can only redeem a minimum of $25 and it takes a long time to get to $25, but so far I have cashed in around $60. Most surveys get rid of me almost instantly as I don't fit their 'criteria'. The ones that pay $3 or more are really the only way to get tot he minimum $25 redeemable amount within any sort of realistic timeframe. Still, it's good beer money when you do reach the $25 minimum and the money has been deposited quite quickly (far more quickly than VA's ridiculous partner airline points).

I joined this ages ago. Note the expiry on opinion points. I saved up enough points to make the minimum transfer to PC and have been ignoring the survey emails since. I also found it was worthwhile to make stuff up when it came to getting accepted to surveys.;)

I can only transfer points to HH, Emirates or PC. I have emailed them about Velocity

Took me about 4 years to get the minimum transfer level, not that I actively chased surveys and give up too. Most of the time the surveys were closed ie (message saying survey closed, before even getting to any questions), even if clicking the moment they hit my inbox.

Are you using an existing account?

Your options to transfer are based on how you originally signed up.

Best surveys are the Roy Morgan ones...I

If they ever turn up at your door, let them in, and do the survey. Yes it takes about 45 mins, but it was worth $50..... which is almost worth it......

Once you get past that, I have received at least 1 survey a fortnight which you get $15-$50 Coles Myer vouchers (or lots of other ones) for 5-15 mins work

Up to well over $300 this year so far

I received this email today

Hello ...

Thank you for contacting e-Rewards. Unfortunately, we cannot change the sponsor in which you enrolled through. In the event that you receive another invitation, you could cancel your current account and enroll through that invitation offer. However, please note that the sponsor in whom you enroll through determines which rewards are available to you. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Martin

Sidetracking before my responses to some points below, one of the other surveys I make a good return on is the Nielsen Homescan panel. I can normally clock up an easy AUD100 gift card each year by spending a few extra minutes scanning some data on my shopping into a handheld data capture device.

Just wish they'd make the data more useful to participants, allowing them to analyse where and what categories their supermarket spend is going to.

4yrs, you need to update your profile. I can easily earn enough for a HH transfer every six to nine months - and that's with not bothering with every second to third survey.

Yes, Roy Morgan can be a goldmine. Their home survey alone can be worth upwards of AUD150 in rewards and vouchers, and their panels can turn over good results for little work.

Did my first survey today, lasted 1 question before I got thrown out!

Anyway, went in and requested the 750 point transfer, so will wait and see how long before they make it across to Velocity.....

I got a survey about cars today. Got kicked out half way. Generally I tailor my answers to hopefully ensure I get the maximum points.

I see e-rewards as a good way to certain reward programs active.
