And here is the picture.

Does this change with daylight savings?? I recall not being able to check in until after 5 pm for QF10 (October departure)

Daylight savings (both Northern and Southern Hemisphere) has more effect on arrival/departure times in Oz. LHR slot timings tend to dictate on the schedules. (Similar with US flights.)

I can only assume that neither QF or BA wish to pay the fees to Heathrow Express demand for the service offered...
Pity as it may have solved my problem...

In the meantime, I'm now considering Yotel at T4 for the day. see yotel dot com (must have 10 posts or more to post links it seems!!!
Albeit a small room (by the hour) it comes with WiFi and privacy and a secure place to leave my luggage - just need to do the T4 to T3 shuffle later in the day.... Somewhat less than late checkout at a city hotel and I'm at Heathrow at least...:(

Pity QF does not allow check in in the morning as QF32 leaves in the morning so they are there at the check-in counters...

There is no service. The check-in is just a machine that issues boarding passes. You still have to take your luggage to Heathrow and drop it. Unlike when Heathrow express first started where it was a propper check-in service.

The lounge dragons in heathrow very kindly asked me "are you looking for the Business lounge sir?" ಠ_ಠ

Nice to meet a couple of fellow AFF members travelling from LHR on QF10 in the BA operated BA/QF F lounge in LHR...
Safe travels guys...:D
