It's still wrong, the T&C's very clear, 500 SCs and you have gold, not 499 or 490.Just an update. VA didn't extend my gold for another 3 months in the end. (I was upgraded 3 months earlier)
In summary, they confirmed IT system decided when to upgrade and once that's done, you can't be downgraded and they can only review your account after 1 years and see what they could do for you. In my case, there is nothing they could do / would do for me.
I must say VA call center has been way less lenient than a year ago. I talked to an agent to ask a question about qualifications and at some point she clearly told me whilst they were empowered to help people out in the past they have now been explicitly instructed not to.Just an update.
