Hi all,
Probably a simple question here but I don't seem to get an answer on Google or here.
I'm about to book a qantas flight which should give me 7800 qantas points.
My question is, if I choose to put down my Asia miles membership number for this booking, does it give me the same 7800 in Asia miles? Or will it be discounted?
Thanks

Each airline has different crediting rates for flights depending on the sectors and booking class. This tool is useful for comparing (although doesn't work well for Qantas).

As an example, SYD to SIN in Discount Business will earn you 7,800 points with Qantas or 4,889 with Asia Miles.

Thanks for your reply. I'm only flying economy class from Syd to Hkg. I guess my problem is that I can't see my fare class until I pay and have an e-ticket issued.

It is annoying that Qantas doesn't tell you the fare class at the time of booking.

If you choose to pay by BPAY you can see the fare class before transferring the money.

It is extremely annoying. There used to be a little trick when on the flight summary page (after flight selection but before payment) you could open up the source code in the browser and run a search for the fare code. I forget the text of course  and it's probably been enhanced anyway. But I learnt that trick here :)
