This is really just a confirm the negative type of thread. I'm considering doing a QF82/81 combination ADL-SYD return in October. As this is work related travel to a conference, I was considering the flexi-saver level, partially for extra SC earn reasons. I've just realised that only Y on international flights earns at economy levels, which contradicts the information displayed when I click on the flexi saver conditions link on the booking page.

Anyone have experience with this type of situation? Would the flights earn as per international earning rules, or as per the fare information provided on the website? Dummy booking shows V fare class for the flexi-saver.

V is economy on Dom.

My single experience on taking a purely domestic sector of an international flight, is that it counts under the domestic rules.

Ah! That would confirm the positive. :o Rather good news. Thanks.

Decisions, decisions.

I have an upcoming trip to HKG (MEL-SYD-HKG, I booked the SYD-HKG flight to be on the A380 instead of A330). The booking class is "L" for both the domestic and international legs (Red e-deal). Am I right in thinking that I will get 20 SCs for the domestic MEL-SYD (economy) and 30 SCs for the SYD-HKG (discount economy)? I usually wouldn't care so much about 10 SCs, but this time it would make the difference between reaching WP as soon as I land in HKG and enjoying the First lounge on the way back (I guess Cathay F lounge...) or having to wait after the HKG-SYD flight back home.

Thank you for your help!

Thank you serfty for the quick reply! Now I just have to hope that the renovations in the Wing F lounge will be completed by early December.

I thought QF has its own F lounge in HKG or is it still under construction?

It Does, but the CX Wing F Lounge renovations are due to be complete sometime in Dec12 and look set to put the QF F Lounge to shame.

Just an update on the reason I started this thread. I booked red-e-deals. Decided the tax deduction SC earn equation wasn't worth the extra cash.
