Andre, what do you mean by cashback sites. Not familiar with this concept (Point 5 in your post). under what conditions would the airfare be bundled as a package only available via a third party provider
There are a number of cashback sites that can be useful
In Australia cashrewards, shopback and cheddar are the ones I use.
I also use topcashback(dot)com
If you sign up (there are often referral offers in the Referral Offers section of AFF) you get cashback on purchases on sites you access after clicking on the site
In a similar vein, both Qantas and Velocity have Earn points by clicking on their shopping portals prior to buying on another site.
The offers available vary depending on the site. The amount of cashback is usually a couple of percent but can increase during an offer

re webjet and similar ... for domestic flights I don't see the point tbh. I'd purchase with the airline direct as there's really no real difference in prices offered (specially with the slim commissions being offered). Sure, a site like webjet makes it easy to mix and match on different airlines for the best deal of the day and that's fine, but for me I'd use something like that or skyscanner or whatever just as a tool for information and still go book direct as those fees aren't going to be a thing and still get the same pricing imo.

there are some cases in international tickets where some consolidator fares can be quite decent (but not from a shonky site.. !!) and beat out booking direct (though I prefer to book direct if I can). There certainly are more options available in some cases.

At the back end of it all, this is all that FF points have a value, maybe 1 or 2 cents, but there is money there.
There is also a prepaid card called Qantas Travel Money Card, its a debit prepaid card, you can earn 0.25points per $1 spent in Aust.
There is no interest paid to you to have money on the card, that and all revenue goes into the operations of the card by Heritage Bank, issuer of card.
Interchange fees also feed into the revenue stream.
Plus our data.
Its a good card as its not a (true) credit card, so you are never charged interest either.
Good for those with bad credit or who always get rejected or earn too low an income/odd income, pointing at myself.
