earning points with visa or master card

What is the best value card (no Amex) visa or master card to earn points for velocity points, with no capping if possible.
1 point per dollar spent or less .
With the changes now if full swing is this now possible.

Maybe St George Amplify is close at 0.75 points per dollar. I don't have it but my youngest son thinks it is ok. I think there is a 10% annual bonus points on top. He is using it for Kris Miles option as those Miles are easier for him to use.

The Coles reward MasterCard is a pretty good choice. Given flybuys / velocity regularly offer 15% transfer bonuses from flybuys points to velocity points its effective earn rate is 1:1.

The card has no earning cap, although there is an annual transfer cap from flybuys to velocity. Having said that in the past, as part of a transfer bonus month, they allowed unlimited transfers.

The card is for everyone, but might be worth considering. Good luck finding the right card!

A second vote for the Coles MasterCard. A nice bonus is the fee-free international transactions.

ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures card has a 40,000 point velocity bonus at the moment. Pretty appealing. It also has fee-free international transactions. The earning rate is 0.75 per $ and capped at $2,000 per month (you still earn points after this but at a paltry rate). Similar to the Coles card unless there is a promotion.

The downside is the cap but also the annual fee ($225/yr), but this is offset by a free Virgin Flight each year and two Virgin Lounge passes.

I'd mainly go to ANZ because of the bonus, but it is a decent card too.

2 anz pt = 1 velocity point

So it depends how much more than 5K you might spend per month, and compare it to 0.75 cards above

Virgin Money High Flyer card is 1pt per $1 up to $8,000 month and then 0.5 every $1 after that. Might be an option depending on how uncapped you really need it.

look at a spend of 25K +, did previously have citi select but had to go when changes occurred to earning rates, so probably will go with virgin money high flyer plus coles master card which I have already got about 4months ago.

Just be prepared for the odd phone call from Citibank with the Virgin card asking where you work and what you do for a living. They try to catch you out with business expenses but for me so far so good over the last 3 or so years, but I am putting up to $100K a month through it.

TBH I maximise my points with using an AMEX where I can (1.5 velocity points per $) and where I can't, I use the Virgin High Flyer card at 1 velocity point per $1.... found its the best combination & the return flight benefits and flight vouchers go half way to paying the fees of both cards.
