Would very much appreciate any advice! Don't know which ff loyalty/cc bonus to focus on!
Status: I will reach QF SG by the end of the year so will have SG for at least all of 2019
Expected 2019 Activity (All ex SYD):
- Around 7 trans tasman trips (most for work) in Y. Work trips are not wedded to any particular airline but by a toss up of cost/times have done some QF some VA/NZ in 2018, so I could make these exclusively one airline in 2019
- around 4 return domestic trips in Y. Generally take cheapest option.
- 2 Intl long haul return in negotiable travel class.
Question: Which AMEX sign up bonus do I take advantage of... QF ultimate or Explorer (both 75k) ? And therefore continue to churn in 2019 cc? Nb. will apply for ANZ Travel offer which is 80k VA
Thoughts:
Is the QF exclusive path worthwhile? ie. can use the points for upgrades etc with QF SG or RTW and thus maximise the status benefits. Can continue 2019 cc churning in the QF realm
Go polyamorous for max benefit? I'm probably knife edge (or a DSC...) to retain gold anyway. perhaps best to plan for a status match to *A gold mid 2019 to keep the party rolling in to 2020 and therefore best to get on the Explorer as the AMEX to get!
Or have I missed another glaring alternative?
