Earth Platinum Card - annual fee waived?

If you're a 'premium customer' of the bank (e.g. massive mortgage), you can get the fee waived for life as part of their services.

Cheers,

Just called to ask about having the fee waived on the Gold card. No arguement at all, a very simple "yes, you've been a customer for so long so that's fine". Dug a little deeper to see what they could do with the Platinum card... got a long winded story about how good it was and eventually agreed to give me the Platinum for the price of the Gold which I was pretty happy with. I'll have a go at getting it free next year!

I'm pretty happy with the combo I have now. Earth Platinum for Amex purchases at $1=1.5 and Woolies Qantas for MC at $1=1. Add on the Earth Platinum travel insurance which seems like one of the better ones and, better still, the domestic hire car insurance and all in all a pretty good deal.

Tried to get it waived. Did not work despite talking to them nicely. :o

So got them to cancel the card as no offers were made.

Spend was > 50k last year. So in essence at an avg of 2% as Merchant fees, they would lose out roughly over a grand of fees generated by my usage.

Might as well get 20,000 points from ANZ from their current offer for similar costs.

Both of us got fee free annual charges this year ... the woman said if we had a loan she'd waive the annual fee altogether.
