It all started on AFF when I read a thread about cheap fares from Yangon (on MI/SQ). After initially booking for Oct we moved our flights in order to spend New Years Eve in New York. We arrive on 29th Dec, and have Hilton Times Square booked on HHonors pts up to and including NYE. Realise it will be rather cold, but that's the price you pay. Just seeking some advice on what to do after NYE - at the moment we fly out at 11pm on 5th, although probably can move a day or two later if necessary. We have spent plenty of time in NYC already so not looking at that. Currently thinking about three options:
1) Washington and Philadelphia - may catch up with a friend in Philly if she is there. Have only spent 1/2 day in Washington and no time in Philly.
2) Flying off to Florida (probably Miami), where it should be much warmer.
3) New Orleans/Louisiana - never been there, and again a bit warmer than the north east

Any advice? Cold isn't really a huge issue for us, it makes a nice change from the constant heat/humidity in Singapore.

DC is a great city, you could easily spend 4 days there.

What are your interests?

Agreed DC is great lot of high class museums and obviously the monuments and Government buildings are worth a look.

Having said that I haven't been back to New Orleans since 1999 but I had a blast. I will return one day. Whatever you do enjoy.
