After horror stories about it being hard to book classic rewards I had a surprise when looking to book a Heathrow to Delhi one way flight for late May this year.

All the flights offered were classic rewards!

I had no problems booking 2 business class seats on KLM, Heathrow - Amsterdam -Delhi flight for 75,000 points each plus 425 pounds.

Heathrow suited me as I will be travelling from Portsmouth, but if I had been in London I could just as easily got London City Airport-Amsterdam-Delhi.

The horror stories are more about getting in/out of Australia where competition is fiercest because of the ridiculous number of points saturating the market and the limited seats made available.

Also I think you'll find the 'everyday' person probably don't have a transit or holiday in India at the top of the list - hence it's more available as a destination.

Could be right, I suppose it depends on why you travel.

I had never been through Delhi Airport until November last year but now I have been through 4 times, and by mid June it will be 6.

After the coming visit which is a transit to Bhutan I will be flying to Australia and got 2 Classic rewards ticket Delhi-Melbourne on Qantas. . . . . but only in economy.

Perhaps people wanting rewards seats to Europe should consider a transit in Delhi rather than the more common choices of Singapore or Hong Kong?

I totally agree that many airports/airlines that a vast majority of Australians won't even consider are totally fine.

But yes you'll find heaps of reward seats bookable with Points in quite a few regions outside of Australia - again partly because many countries can't collect points with the ease that we do.

Enjoy the travels.

This is true. I’m flying a OneWorld 318k business class trip which is QF to DEL and then BA to LHR. The VIP team found it for me when there was very little otherwise available.
