Hello Everyone

I read alot of books and it can become a hassel when I'm travelling that I want to take books home. I am looking at eBook readers such as Be Book or Kindle and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them.

I know it won't replace the feel of a new book but am thinking an eBook loaded up could be an option for me.

I have downloaded some books to my ipod but when listening to those I tend to get distracted and have to rewind.

Thank you.

Karen

There is a discussion on MacBreak Weekly regarding various book applications. I know you don't prefer podcasts but have a listen to The TWiT Netcast Network with Leo Laporte

I'm right in the middle of tossing up between getting an Ecoreader (Hanlin V3) from dadirect.com.au or hoping that B&H Photo gets stock of the Sony Reader Pocket Edition in something other than pink very soon (got a month long trip coming up in two weeks)...

UPS delivered my Sony Pocket Edition yesterday - so far, I'm seriously impressed. It's thin enough to be less of a pain when travelling than even one novel (although it's taller and wider than a small paperback, it's much thinner - so it'll fit in bags, seat pockets etc. much better), and so far I've got 60 books (public domain stuff, out of copyright) loaded on, with a heap of memory free.

The screen is great, although I haven't had a chance to read it for a good solid chunk of time yet - it looks good enough that I'm not expecting any eyestrain or anything. It's actually pretty strange looking at something that looks much more paper-y than an LCD or CRT screen but still acts like it - my brain must be too used to backlit displays!

Haven't tried buying any books yet, but ebooks.com seems to have a reasonable selection and is available to Oz. I'm incredibly irritated that buying ebooks is massively restricted by location, and all the stores seem to have different policies, but oh, well.

So, in short... So far, I think these ereaders are a great idea for anyone who travels and reads even a bit!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Including (fairly fast) shipping, USD 261 which came out to AUD 325.30. Pretty happy with that.
