Hi AFFers,

I'm looking at traveling SIN-xKUL-CDG-xKUL-SIN in May next year with MH (will be in SIN off a QF flight already), but my only experiences in Y with MH have been on the 738 short-haul... and they were not great. I found the pitch and width on those seats to be very tight, whereas I am very comfortable on the QF A380 and refurbished 744 product. Need some further advice.

I've had a wander around, and can't seem to find much on economy seating on the Malaysia Airlines (MH) A380. Does anyone have any experiences with it? I'm particularly interested on views as to how it compares, comfort and size-wise to the QF product. SeatGuru suggests MH is slightly bigger in pitch and seat width than QF (32/18 vs 31/17.5)... but I've been told again and again not to trust SeatGuru! I've heard, perhaps unsurprisingly, that the mini-cabin on the upper deck is the way to go, even though it may no longer be the 'kid free zone' it was initially being marketed as.

Lastly - MH say that there is no give-aways for 'premium' seats to MH or OW elites... is that true, in reality? I have been assigned exit row and bulkhead on the 738 without question before.

Any advice appreciated!

Cheers.

sorry, that was a bad copy/paste............finger trigger in action meant to link the A380 stuff

Thanks, KLN - I hadn't really thought to search for stuff within YouTube itself, and after watching the video you linked, I found a few others as well with traveler 'tours' of the MH A380 economy cabins, both downstairs and on the upper deck. Looks to be pretty reasonable on the upper deck, too. Just need to figure out what they will give away for OWE in terms of seat selection... The MH website suggests nothing, but on regional Y with MH, I have been able to select whatever I wanted via the call centre with no additional cosst... so YMMV depending on operator...
