I just signed up to Expert flyer for the 5day trial. As a WP on QF & DJ I was hoping to get emails as row 4or 5 cam available. I seem to only have row 6 available when I book generally 3-5 days before the flight via the manage my booking on QFF.

I have a flight on monday night QF694 from Adl to Mel and set my first seat alert for window and aisle on rows 4 and 5. I've just logged on to my QFF manage my bookings and was able to move to 4F with not an email from EF in my inbox.

I double checked the seat alert and can only see one thing I may have got wrong - the area in the grey showing preium, blocked and paid seats excluded? what does that mean and should I have them as included?

If anyone can tell me why EF didnt alert me to my requested seat opening up I'd be greatly appreciative. But luckily I checked QFF and got 4F anyway.

Cheers

I've not had that problem with EF.
Does the trial version allow you to see the seat maps available for your status when you enter your FF no. ?

i've just added my QFF number and 5D opened up on the seat map, I'll wait and see if an email comes now.

Definitely don't included blocked seats because you'll get the email straight away as it treats blocked as available.

thanks for the answers - I just got the EF email to say 5C opened up. So i presume the issue was my not having my QFF WP listed.

Cheers
Andrew

...
When you submit your query there is a check box "Treat Blocked seats as available" - MAKE SURE YOU DON'T select that.

Live done that in the past and it just results in an immediate email to say the seat is available, but the seat is still blocked when I check. So I just assume that it it does as it suggests and ignores the block. Anyway, I get results by not selecting that check box, but you are definitely the expert on this stuff so I'll try again.

Not disagreeing with anything that's been said already but I find that just ticking the 'select specific seats' box works for me.

I mistyped.

I am generally interested in specific seats which are often blocked from me (e.g. Row 4 on a Domestic 73H outside of T-80).

I do not select treat blocked seats as available, but do select specific seats depending on the equipment (e.g. 23A/C, 4C/D) as per the OP.
