Effects of new VA1 arrival time into LAX

Currently sitting at LAX as I'm typing this, having landed on VA7 this morning at 6.20am (VA1 landed 10 minutes later). It took me a grand total of 27 minutes from leaving the plane to walking out the front door of TBIT, which is definitely a record for me! The earlier arrival time seems to coincide with a few QF flights but not many from Asia.

They also seem to now have separate queues just for ESTA visa holders, which sped up the clearance process substantially from when I was here in May.

Overall, unless this was a fluke, they seem to have substantially improved the arrival experience.

its overall a lot quicker because there are those self serve kiosk to scan passport, photo and fingerprint scan and Q&A in own language before you get to immigration officer, so the queue gets quicker because the immigration officer does not need to do all that. The language issue is always a PITA especially when the blue A380 is parked at the gate when you arrive.

My experience was similar in August coming off VA7 into TBIT.

Arrivals seems to be much better- now can they please do something about departures....?
