EK A380 J seating - most preferred?

Have a couple of sectors coming up. As a solo traveller i presume the seats next to the window are the most preferable, but would you take a seat further down the back to ensure this, or take an aisle seat to be further towards the front?

Also how noisy does the mini cabin become with the bar right behind?

If travelling solo the best seats IMHO tend to be the A&K seats towards the front of the main cabin. You receive less foot traffic as the restrooms are at the back. It is worth it moving rearwards to gain one of these seats if required. Have never been seated in the rear cabin for sectors greater than AKL to SYD so unsure as to the noise

as in there are additional side storage lockers on those particular rows? or just generally on the seats closest to the windows?

A/K seats, as close to the front as possible. Please note all the bathrooms and galley are down the back, so the closer to the back you get, the more foot traffic there will be past your seat.

Having been moved from 11K once and not needing medical power, I'd be looking for any ABE or FJK combos other than 11FJK.


Maybe AB and adjacent B or JK and adjacent J.

Side storage is useful in flight as there's very little storage with the skybeds.[/-]

Hmm I will see how it goes, when I select seats apart it brings up a note indicating Emirates policy to have children under 13 seated next to a traveling adult where possible. So an E,F,K or an A,E,F might be what they prefer, I can only put in a selection and see what comes back?

The seating plan for my booking comes up as 1 2 1 on an EK A380. I am flying on Emirates not QF this time.

Yeah some of it did have me scratching my head as I thought posting in the Emirates Skywards board would be the right place to ask about EK seating so I just tacked onto a previous thread asking the same question. Never really occurred to me the that just the title would come up in the latest post lists, doh.

As a single traveler, 7A hands down. Only risk is that there might be a screamer in the bassinet seats in the middle but that has happened less often to me than having a screamer close by in F

7A is a window seat and the first up the front so more often than not, you get served first (though EK is sometimes a bit random in the way they take orders/serve). But most importantly, it has a huge empty space right next to the seat where usually the next staggered aisle seat would go (albeit it's not there as it's the first row in the cabin). Awesome space to dump some stuff, empty your hand luggage to find something on the bottom of it (my heartburn meds are ALWAYS in the bottom for some reason when I need them after too much champagne ) or to simply discard of your plates and glasses if you happen to end up with one of those rather slack flight attendants (about a 50:50 chance on Emirates in my experience).

23A or 25A for me if possible. I love the mini cabin. 23A is a bit of a PITA to get out of when the seat is fully flat but I love that it feels more secluded. My wife loves 25A so I’m happy to take 23A.

I think this really comes down to what you prefer, as on all J class configs with this staggered seating style: Do you rather sit close to your loved one and therefore give up the view out of the window (and from experience, often a better service for the outer seats) or do you value service and view (and heaven forbid, maybe even some space away from your better half ) over seating together?

My partner and me usually mix it up or go for the latter, sitting in front of each other is not THAT bad, actually.
