And it looks like EK432 SIN-BNE also reverts to the original departure time of 15:35 arriving 00:55?

Looking at some flights in January 2020 and noticed that EK will again be retiming BNE and MEL departures from SIN...

Don't they normally change the flight timings between the summer and winter schedules though?

There's an hour or two re-timing and there is RE-TIMING.

EK404 went from a 9am'ish arrival into MEL to a 00:30 arrival.

That's what I call RE-TIMING.

So what is happening next year?

Further to my earlier post, not sure about BNE flights, but with EK404 between SIN and MEL there is a period where it reverts to original schedule (22:30ish departure from SIN) before reverting back to the new schedule (14:00ish departure from SIN).

That period is April 16 to May 30 inclusive, coincides with the time that DXB’s southern runway is closed. As far as I can tell in Jan 2020 the new schedule is still in place. For me personally it’s great schedule, half a day in the office, and then down to MEL arriving in time for bed.

Read from another thread that EK will be retiming flights between SIN and MEL...

They have definitely retimed their flights for April next year, with MEL-SIN changing from a day flight departing 18:00 and arriving in SIN at 23:50 to now departing at 02:25 and arriving in SIN at 08:15. Horrible timings. Had notification yesterday.

That's similar timing to the old BNE-SIN flight which is no longer being operated from April. Looks like EK is playing around with its SIN slots.

Be disappointed with this. My favourite way of getting to MEL is EK404 - beats the red eyes whilst not wasting the whole day.
Totally agree. I don't sleep well at all on planes so this flight was perfect when I needed to be at work Monday morning in Melbourne and still allowed a leisurely sunday morning in Singapore.

Doubly disappointed now. EK405 with its 1800/1900 departure (depending on DST or not) was a good way of maximising my time back in MEL with family. The new schedule is not good. I don't find the westbound overnight flights as problematic as the eastbound ones, as I do take the midnight SQ departure, but this EK timing gets you in too late to go home and sleep for a couple of hours before going into office.
